James Hudson had been right about one thing, this team were nothing like Alpha Flight or Department H. General Stone had ensured that all the details she would require had been sent over and in return she'd been honest and disclosed her personal issues. These hadn't proved to be a problem and she'd been signed up to the team lickty-split quick ( Read more... )

What Ophelia likes most about the camp is the hubbub. There's always something going on somewhere, always someone messing up something or finding out something new or just meeting someone else. There are people falling out or people making up and Ophelia really enjoys just letting go and stretching out with her mind to let it all wash over her.

Naturally, anything new catches her interest more than anything old, so when something shiny and fresh arrives, Ophelia can't help but indulge in just a little bit of, well, stalking.

It's not so much creepy sort of stalking -although there probably isn't another kind- it's more Ophelia tracing the path of the emotional signature just after it's been there. The only problem is getting far too caught up in her powers and actually walking right into the back of said new shiny thing.

"Eep." And then scaring herself slightly, "Apologies, she didn't see you there, wandering around without a care. How foolish of her we do so say, barging into you on this very day."

Aurora is huffing loudly in Jeanne-Marie's mind, dusting herself off and demanding that J-M checks to make sure that this isn't some part of the mutants skill, bashing into the back of them and stealing something. Jeanne-Marie ignores the screeching harpy in her head and turns to face her brightly haired stalker with a wary look.

"It's alright, no harm done mademoiselle. Are you alright?" Jeanne-Marie straightens her clothing at Aurora's insistence, trying to tamp down on the way that Aurora is currently picking apart this peculiar lady's clothing and appearance.

'What on earth is with her hair? At least she's not blue but I mean really? Who does she think she is? What have you signed us up for J-M?'"I didn't sign us up for anything!" Jeanne-Marie hisses under her breath, fists clenched as she remembers her mental techniques at dealing with Aurora when she gets too much. Imagine a box around Aurora, imagine that box in a room, imagine the door to that room being closed ( ... )

Smiling brightly, Ophelia clasped her hands behind her back, rocking on her heels. "Right as rain," and then she stopped, because there was definitely a thread of frustration right there and Ophelia had to bite her lip and take a step back.

She'd been working on not affecting people without reason -Betsy's help was going a long way in that and these days Ophelia's rhyming was more out of habit that a break in her splintered mind, thanks in great part to Betsy.

"Sorry, sorry, didn't mean it." She wasn't sure if in this instance she should calm the woman or if she should just excuse herself to the nearest tree and stay out of the way. "Just an accident, no harm meant. Zones in and out, not watching where she went. Sorry to bother, didn't mean to crowd."

Realising that it was either something she had said or the way that she had said it Jeanne-Marie huffed at Aurora and gestures with her palms up, in a placating gesture. "No. Please, don't apologise I know it wasn't intentional. Y'see It's my... comment je l'explique?" Jeanne-Marie reaches into her pocket and pulls out an orange pill pot, rattling it at Ophelia.

"There's no point in trying to beat around the bush but I'm schizophrenic and I've multiple personalities." Glancing down at the pill pot, Jeanne-Marie runs a thumb over the label before putting it back into her pocket. She has no qualms in telling people the truth, mostly because there's no point in hiding the truth. Not when she has to live and work with these people.

"Sometimes the voices get a little too noisy, please don't take offence mademoiselle. Can we start over? Le plaisir de faire votre connaissance, I'm Jeanne-Marie and you are?"

The woman had strange words. They sounded pretty, but they were still strange. Phe had no clue what they meant. Once upon a time, Sarah understood the English language so perfectly she got a diploma and then went on to study it more. These days, Ophelia pieced the words together to make nonsense and rhymes and that suited her fine ( ... )

'So the red head Shakespearean weirdo doesn't like tablets huh? Seems to me like she's like us J-M.' Aurora is intrigued by the weirdness that is Ophelia, even whilst Jeanne-Marie seems a little taken aback by Ophelia's response to the tablets. Then again whilst in the hospital they'd been witness to many varying resposes to medication and many of them were not so good. Jeanne-Marie and Aurora were pretty easy going considering the potential fall-out that could have come from them being forced to take medication daily.

The rhyming is an oddity but Jeanne-Marie doesn't probe or question, just accepts that it must be something like her need to occasionally talk out-loud at Aurora, or vice-versa.

"Well I'm... not stewing really just trying to get myself used to the layout, just incase one of my personalities takes control and gets a little lost. It's been known to happen. Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you Ophelia. Have you been here long?"

Back to rocking happily on her heels, Ophelia brightens rather obviously at the dismissal of her bumping. "Since Africa at least, but had a small break. She's not one of the first, but that's a hard bit to fake." Frankly, Ophelia wouldn't be there without Rictor and Martini, mostly Rictor, but if she had one and not the other, she isn't entirely sure how that would affect things.

Shaking her head lightly, Ophelia dampens down her own receptiveness to the curiosity. "By the courtyard past there you'll since some nice trees, the one with the ribbons is hers if you please. If you happen to wander and can't find your way, just look for Ophelia and she'll happily say."

It was usually easy to locate Ophelia, what with the large boots and the vibrant hair. "How many of you are there and are they likely to stay?"

Africa? Jeanne-Marie keeps her surprise in check but Aurora is grumbling about them better not being made to move around and live in climates like that without some notice. It's not good for the hair.

Trying to make sense of the rhyming Jeanne-Marie nods along for the most part and chuckles softly at the tree comment. "I'll ensure my personalities keep that in mind and I look forward to spotting your tree too on my wanders."

At the mention of others the personalities all start to respond, not all forcing their way to the front, just making themselves known for the moment. "I have two dominant personalities this one, Jeanne-Marie and Aurora is the other one. Beyond that there are about another five or so, but they're mostly content to sit in the background lest something drastic happens. Mostly it's just either me or Aurora, though you'll know when you've met Aurora... she's... tactless at times."

It's all very interesting and Ophelia is mostly curious as to just how different the personalities could be, for with each different one she's surely going to feel something else. It's enough to make Phe giddy.

"She's just an owl, or maybe she's the cat. It's hard to tell with this and that. Don't worry none about little Phe, her skin is tougher than most can see." If Ophelia took everything that anyone said to heart, she'd be a nervous, dithering, insecure wreck. Instead, that's usually how she leaves people who make comment on her antics.

"It's nice of you to come and play, but how long exactly do you plan to stay?"

Jeanne-Marie just nods along, getting a little more confused by the start of the statement but at least Ophelia hasn't take then reaction and comments to heart. Thank goodness she met Jeanne-Marie first and not Aurora or else the outcome could have been entirely different.

"What? Here with the team? As long as they'll have me... or do you mean with my personality? Because I could bring out Aurora but she's..." Jeanne-Marie is searching for the right word whilst Aurora lists off all her redeeming qualities like her winning smile, charming personality, impeccable taste and so on. "Aurora is a bit of a madam at time."

'Now that was bitchy J-M. Don't go giving the red-head any ideas now or else she'll never play nice with me and you know how I love to make friends!'

Ophelia had been meaning the team, because she doesn't actually think along logical patterns, she wouldn't have assumed that Jeanne-Marie could flick a switch and let her meet Aurora, but then, the idea was tempting.

"Wouldn't say no to meeting your other half, so long she doesn't mind Ophelia's a tad daft." Like people couldn't tell. "Bit of a story, not one she can tell, but so long as it's okay, a meeting would be swell."

At a push, Ophelia could try not to rhyme, things would be a touch more stilted as she paused to think on her words, but it was possible to speak like an average person -and she did mean average because normal was boring.

"It's a curious nature, and she's wondering to see, just how it's all different from you and from me." Jeanne-Marie had a rather lovely set to her emotions, things were a little bit jumbled, but most people were, but she tasted like blueberries and that couldn't be bad.

Jeanne-Marie falters and snaps her gaze away, clearly locked in an inner battle between her two personalities. She's not willing to give up control today, not when there's a risk that Aurora will refuse to co-operate and will go about causing chaos around camp before Jeanne-Marie has a chance to at least explain to everyone else what they'll be confronted with.

Finally Jeanne-Marie shakes off the hundred yard stare she had going and offers a small and somewhat tight smile to Ophelia. "Sorry. Not right now but maybe later, when things are a little more settled. Then you are more than welcome to meet her, no question about it."

It's a little awkward but Ophelia doesn't seem phased so Jeanne-Marie relaxes a little before holding her map out. "I've visited pretty much everywhere on here but any other good suggestions?"

Ophelia doesn't take it to heart, whatever Jeanne-Marie wants. She can sense the underlying hesitance without being an empath, so she doesn't push or ask more reasons, she just smiles before looking over the map.

"Have you been to the top?" She points to the building that represents the training centre, knowing that some people don't bother checking it all out, "And you'll find the fixer round here," pointing out the garage, "and this is nice for just laying around," the far end of the base where the currently vacant heli pad is, "but the roofs are fun for catching some sun."

Which is an odd comment coming from someone so pale.

Glancing over at the training centre Jeanne-Marie notes it's one of the last couple of places she hasn't been yet. She also takes note of the remarks that Ophelia makes about the "fixer" and the best places to sneak off and get some down time.

Aurora resumes her snarky remarks, though it's pretty obvious she's hopeful that there will be some eye-candy over in the training center to admire. Jeanne-Marie however doesn't remark on that, forehead instead creasing in a frown before she shakes it off.

"Well thanks Ophelia, I guess I'd better finish up my tour. I'll see you later in the Mess Hall." Jeanne-Marie checks the timetable she was issued with for the meal times before nodding once and tucking it away in a pocket, before she heads off to explore some more.
