Panic was not a word in Ethan's vocabulary.
The reports in Europe about the disease weren't detailed enough and after his brief discussion with Emma over the potential problems Ethan had tried pressing the General for access to more intel. Apparently this was not the thing to do as he'd been informed that the matter was above his pay scale and not his problem. Restricted by what he could do Ethan had imposed a ban on a change of the miltiary personnel allowed into the mutant side of Fort Wenachee along with any other requests or restrictions he could impose without drawing too much attention to the situation or pissing off the General.
And then the first reports, just two days later, hit the East coast of America and steadily raced inland. Within twenty-seven hours there were reports of the sickness in Kansas and Nebraska and barely four hours after that Wyoming and Utah. By the time Ethan got the first email informing him of cases being recorded in Washington he'd been too busy dealing with Angel who'd suddenly declined and needed taking to the Med Bay pronto.
Ethan's been trying to deal with questions, requests and reports left right and centre, suddenly there are medical people trying to get him to sign over his team for experiments - which isn't happening despite what anyone else might well think or say - and the sight of Daken sick as well has Ethan ditching his attempts at trying to manage the onslaught of emails and finding Doctor Hope and Emma Frost.
He doesn't care who he finds first and where, just as long as he gets to talk to them now.
