He was dragging ass. It was just one of those days when he woke up tired, PT wore him out, and he was just counting the minutes until he was off the clock so he could be lazy. Maybe play some x-box. That sounded great ( ... )

Mac nodded, feeling just a little pathetic, "'m sowy. It's just," she waved a hand, sort of to indicate the accidental explosion of the machine. "They have a mind of their own right now."

Her head was heavy, her bones were like lead, she could barely concentrate at all. "I think I got da flu. Don't get too close." Growing with siblings, Mac was well aware of just how infectious certain things like the flu could be. If one of them got it, all of them had it.

Since Mac played around in puddles, she usually ended up with the cold anyway. "Y'okay there brat?"

He had to laugh a little bit. "Stuffy nose is a good look on you with your 'sowy' and stuff."

He couldn't help it. She was usually so tough and badass. She almost made a guy feel inadequate. It was rare to see her vulnerable in any form. "I ain't worried about it. I got my flu shot about a month and a half ago. You should eat that soup while it's still hot. It will feel good on your throat and it's probably good to get a little food in your system. When you're done we'll head over to medical and see if they have any antibiotics or something. If you're really good I'll come over after my shift and we can take a nap together." That last suggestion was accompanied with wagging eyebrows.

"Oooh," she really was bunged up with it, all her words slurring worse than they usually did and her throat raw. "Don' tease, or you'll regred id."

Sipping at the soup, she just listened to what he suggested and sighed slightly, "I got some stuff for id, just t' sleep id off or whatever." And really, it was exactly what she thought she should do. "When's your shift? I'm donna take you up on that nap." Sniffing slightly, rubbing her hand over her forehead, "I need snuggles."

Mac was an extremist. She went from one extreme to the other. Most of the time she was the hardass, one of the boys, take no prisoners mechanic. She pushed to be that and sure, she got to the point where she worked at intimidating people. But sick, when she was sick all Mac wanted was cuddles and hugs and lazing under the blankets with someone to rub her back and keep her warm.

Not that she'd admit it.

He started to come back with something smart, then reached across the table and cupped her cheek instead. "Give it a rest. The only thing I'm gonna regret is making you scratch your voice all up."

"I should be done around noon but you know how it goes. I'll grab a shower, change and head to your room, okay? But in the meantime, you finish that soup and head to bed. By the time you wake up, I'll be there." Jesse said softly. He had no issue playing nursemaid to the woman. And it wasn't even because he was finally going to be in Mac's bed. Not just that anyway. He hated seeing her so rough and he wanted to take care of her.

It was enough at least to make her smile softly, leaning into the hand on her cheek slightly. She didn't do the vulnerable thing often, so it was automatic to push it back a little and use a wind up. But she wasn't about to turn down any offer of a nursemaid.

"That sounds preddy good, actually." She knew it might be later than noon before he got off, she knew she might not even get a nap at all from the coughing she'd been suffering through. But the prospect of it was better than nothing really.

She ate some more of the soup, already feeling tired out. "Gawd, dis is hell."

She was right. He didn't end up finished until after 1pm. His sinuses were kicking his ass. First just with the headache but then with general fatigue. By the time he was done with his shower, he was looking forward to that nap almost as much as the prospect of cuddling Mac.

That was just unacceptable.

Downing a couple Allegra, he changed quickly into a plain teeshirt and thin pajama bottoms with little pictures of Scooby Doo on them. It wasn't exactly dressing for success but they were comfy as hell. He didn't even put on shoes. He just pad down to her room, gently knocking on the door even as he opened it.

"You decent?" He asked sort of hoping that she wasn't.

She had half finished her soup, she'd dragged her ass back to her room and showered. The steam of the bathroom almost cleared her head a little, but not nearly enough. In the end, she'd crawled under the covers just out of her shower and dozed for a few hours.

When the knock came, it wasn't too much trouble to rouse her. "Sorta." Decent for her was a plain white wife beater and a pair of boxers. Her hair was still slightly damp but her temperature had spiked following her shower, it wasn't just as clammy anymore, but she wasn't bothered with getting a cold from her hair being wet since she already felt like she had bird flu anyway.

"Told'ja y'd be late." She's still mostly drowsy, not bothering to climb out of bed when she knows the whole point is to stay in it. "Move it, Soldier, you're overdue."

Jesse smiled and slipped into the room. Even rumpled, there was no denying the hotness of the woman. The ease in which she lived in her skin. She wasn't fussy. In fact, he should probably be a little worried by what it meant but she kind of reminded him of a dude. Right down to the boxers. Only guys don't have a body like that.

Closing the door softly, he crossed the room, double time (wouldn't want to keep a commanding officer waiting) and slipped under the covers. "Feelin' any better, dollface?" He asked as he turned on his side to face her. He didn't want to be presumptuous and jump right into the groping but he found it hard to be so close and not touch her so he played with her hair. Pushing the damp locks away from her face and smoothing it over her pillow. Her fever bothered him. She was burning up. "Have you taken anything? You're really hot."

She's not too bothered about the whole groping issue, Mac's pretty crap at the whole 'sexual harassment' boundaries thing anyway. Even as Jesse is smoothing her hair back, she's sliding in the distance and wrapping an arm around his waist, hand burrowing under his shirt to rest on the skin at his back.

"'m fine, got some medicine." She could make a comment on how hot he thinks she is and play it that way, but she is still pretty tired and she's got someone who isn't worried about a little cuddling, so she'll just let it pass.

"Just need sleep, and comfort. Those'll do the trick."

Moving even closer, he slid his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. "Well, I'm definitely cool with both. And I'm not even mad that it took the flu for you to get me in bed." He teased lightly.

After just a moment of closeness Jesse was having to think of his Grandma June, mud, anything non-sexy because her hands weren't shy about wandering. Tired or not he was still a guy and he was teasing about being in bed together but he didn't want her to think that was why he was there. "So... I heard you were working on the security system. How's that going?"

Literal shop talk.

Lame Dylan. Real lame.

There was a small sigh from her, the press of his lips to her head making her smile softly. "It's just cause you think you need an invite." Frankly, she missed having a bedmate, it had been the best part of a year and half since she had a regular one, and only a handful of people knew of Mac's weakness for cuddles ( ... )

"Yeah right, I'm just going to kamakazi your bed. Not only are you my commanding officer, you'd kick my ass and I'd have to let you because I don't hit girls." It was almost a compliment until he accused her of being a girl. Thankfully, he didn't think she'd kick him out of bed for it ( ... )

The hand playing with her hair felt great, there was no way Mac would be discouraging that. "Have I ever given you the impression that I'd be at all adverse to you joining me?" Mac wasn't exactly known for mincing her words, and the kid was pretty damn easy on the eyes.

"You mind what you say about my 'hobbit' feet or I'll be warming them up on your ass." The pressing evidence of interest against her hip didn't make a difference at all. At least she knew it worked. If anything listening to him compliment her made her blush just slightly. "We can readdress this when I'm not all sick and disgusting, okay."

Because whatever he thought, interest went both ways, and Mac was only slightly teasing in pressing her hip against him a little firmer in a bid to add the pressure.

"There's a difference between flirting and sex, woman. I know you know that. I flirt with everybody. Doesn't mean I want them all as bed buddies. Damn." Why would she be any different? And to be honest, he kind of though there was something going on between her and the Captain. She gets away with murder and it might just be his imagination but Sykes has seemed less uptight lately. It made him a little jealous but it wasn't like they were dating. If she wanted to bang the boss, that was her business.

"Promise?" He teased with wagging eyebrows. His fingers brushed lightly over her pink cheeks and he smiled. He really had to fight the urge to call her on it but it was made a little easier by how hot her skin was to touch, reminding him that she was sick. He'd keep the teasing to a minimum. "Sick? Yes. Disgusting? No."

If she was going to press closer, so was he. The arm he had around her pulled her flush against him then settled just north of her ass.
