The power was out. In a place like this, the power wouldn't just go out without good reason. And even then? There'd be a back-up generator for occasions like this. Which meant that something was seriously wrong. Haylie was having another bout of insomnia due to energy build-up once again, which meant she was awake and doing push-ups on the floor of her room. Dropping to the floor as the power went out, she put an ear to the ground and heard footsteps. Multiple sets of footsteps, all moving in a coordinated fashion while trying to make as little noise as possible. It didn't take formal training to recognize that this was a tactical invasion. These were the times that she was thankful for her mother's years of service to the NYPD and all those visits to the precinct as a kid, because she'd learned a thing or two about this kind of thing.

"Shit."

Eyes widening, she curled up onto her knees and pressed her palms to the carpet. Focusing her energy to her hands, she released just enough power to destroy the floor around her, which plummeted her into the empty room below. As she landed gracefully on her feet, it hit her. She needed to warn somebody. But Sykes and Frost were in the other building and if this was as bad as she thought it was going to be? She needed reinforcements. And a plan.

"Spencer." Her heart sank when she realized who else was on this floor. As far as she knew? The kid had almost no combat training or full control over his powers. And when she bolted to the wall that separated 207 and 206? The plan to reach the Captain got thrown out the window.

Hands pressed tightly against the wall, Haylie focused her powers once more and managed to quietly burn through the wall, which allowed her access to the room that housed Dane and Hughes. For a brief moment, however, Haylie stopped to admire her work. Instead of causing an explosion, the space she channeled energy through had just seemed to... disintegrate. She'd never done that before. Maybe it was her adrenaline and her backed up energy that were working faster. But ever since she'd exhausted herself facing off against Sykes, she'd felt different. Maybe her powers were evolving again. But she'd think about that later.

Right now? Her priorities were to wake up the girls, and get to Spencer.

"Dane. Hughes. It's Haylie. Wake up."
