Everyday is Summer to me. [OTA]

He got word that the team was finally at the location. Scott's mini-vacation was over as he made his way into the base's compound with his backpack on a shoulder. All he wanted to do was help people, people like him; and this was how he would do it. Hopefully ( Read more... )

The compound was gorgeous and actually up to date. There was a fence but the view was still spectacular. Angel was even getting used to the idea of living with men. Though the bathroom situation still made her nervous.

No, the only problem the little redhead had was that despite the setting, she was still as much of a klutz as ever. Just as he was coming in, she was coming out swinging the door open with little regard as to who might be on the other side.

Lucky for him, the door just smacked into his hand. Scott winced, pulling his hand back. "Ow..." He grumbled a little and bit his tounge as to not yell at whoever opened the door. He should've watched where he was going.

"Oh my gosh!" She gasped taking a timid step toward him. "I am so SO sorry. Are you okay? I didn't see you there. I mean I wasn't looking but I should have been. Does it hurt a lot? Do you need ice? I can get ice."

Scott chuckled a little, holding onto his hand for a moment before giving it a gentle shake. "It's fine. I'm fine." He moved his wrist and smiled at the woman. "See? Nothing's broken either."

Ric was stood just to the side of one of the buidlings, pretty much since their arrival in camp Ric had shunned his boots and wandered around in bare feet, finding any and every excuse to wander across the bare earth. Currently he was leaning up against the wall, a half smoked cigarette in one hand and the other shoved into his pocket as he admired the view.

Hearing footsteps Ric peered around the corner of the building to see a new person, moving to lean on the corner, Ric flicked the ash from his cigarette to the ground.

"Hello, you must be new?"

He jumped a little, not expecting anyone else to be around outside. Scott looked and gave a sheepish grin. "How'd you know?" He guessed he had the face of a rookie or they didn't have new people join very often.

"Nah, just not seen your face around here before and I'm usually pretty good at knowing who's who in camp." Ric didn't move but held out a hand towards the young man, smiling and hoping that he hadn't spooked him too much.

"Julio Richter but everyone calls me Ric, and you are?"

Jack was out in the corridors. Unlike the Russian base, he couldn't just hide out in his room when he wanted to avoid the team. Nope, now he was forced to share his living quarters with the beasts. Hence, he had taken to pacing around the base for hours on end. Seeing yet another new face walk in did nothing to improve his mood. Poor Scott was about to be on the receiving end of the mutant hunter in a bad temper. "Christ Almighty, another mutant? How many does Stryker think we fucking need?"

He was about to ask for help or directions when he saw the man, but thought twice after his comment. Scott frowned. He really didn't like the people who judged mutants, even if they didn't know them or about their lives. "What makes you so sure I'm a mutant?" he questioned as he shifted teh weight of his backpack. Scott knew exactly how to play dumb in situations like this. He'd been taught to actually.

Jack snorted at Scott's comment. Really, if he was that ignorant as to what sor of team he had ended up on, Jack would be all too happy to inform him. "There's only two types of people dumb enough to end up in this piece of shit squad: mutants and humans who like to kill. There's a helluva lot more of the first."

Narrowing his eyes and frowning, Scott said, "Well I'm not the latter." He'd be lying if he said death didn't scare him. Too many people were taken from his life. "You sound like you really dislike mutants."

Risque was leaned back against the building puffing away on her cigarette. She looked up when she heard someone approaching casually checking out the young guy. She flicked some ashes off her cigarette,"What's your name?"

"Huh?" Scott quickly looked in the direction of the voice and said, "Scott Summers." He'd really have to get used to being around others since it had been a few weeks.

"Nice to meet you,"she gave him a little nod. She thought about saying something about his age but hell they had kids younger than him in the camp.
