He got word that the team was finally at the location. Scott's mini-vacation was over as he made his way into the base's compound with his backpack on a shoulder. All he wanted to do was help people, people like him; and this was how he would do it. Hopefully ( Read more... )

Jack was out in the corridors. Unlike the Russian base, he couldn't just hide out in his room when he wanted to avoid the team. Nope, now he was forced to share his living quarters with the beasts. Hence, he had taken to pacing around the base for hours on end. Seeing yet another new face walk in did nothing to improve his mood. Poor Scott was about to be on the receiving end of the mutant hunter in a bad temper. "Christ Almighty, another mutant? How many does Stryker think we fucking need?"

He was about to ask for help or directions when he saw the man, but thought twice after his comment. Scott frowned. He really didn't like the people who judged mutants, even if they didn't know them or about their lives. "What makes you so sure I'm a mutant?" he questioned as he shifted teh weight of his backpack. Scott knew exactly how to play dumb in situations like this. He'd been taught to actually.

Jack snorted at Scott's comment. Really, if he was that ignorant as to what sor of team he had ended up on, Jack would be all too happy to inform him. "There's only two types of people dumb enough to end up in this piece of shit squad: mutants and humans who like to kill. There's a helluva lot more of the first."

Narrowing his eyes and frowning, Scott said, "Well I'm not the latter." He'd be lying if he said death didn't scare him. Too many people were taken from his life. "You sound like you really dislike mutants."

Jack looked at Scott with an expression on his face somewhere between contempt and disgust. He pulled a cigarette out of the packet in his pocket and lit it as he spoke, his tone clearly condescending. "No shit, Sherlock. I'm a mutant hunter."
