She's been spending as much time outside now after recieving her letter from Ridley and being an emotional wreck for nearly twenty-four hours straight. Cassie was now perched in the lowest branch of a tree on the base. From afar, she saw someone walking. Since she was trying to get better at her mind reading capabilities, she did her best to get her mind reached out to them. Not a peep.
Cassie gave a sigh and called out the old fashioned way. "Hey!"
Victor glanced over as he heard the shout, breaking into a smile as he realised just who had been calling to him. He recognised the young blonde from the few conversations he'd had with her, and he gladly strolled over to greet her, towering over her as he closed the gap between them.
Cassie hopped down from the tree in a quick movement and caught her footing. "Yeah. They finally let you out of the cage?" She wrinkled her nose as she remembered the place. Blecch.
"Seems that way, huh." There was a slight pang of sadness as he spoke to the girl; she still reminded him of Emma, and she probably always would. "Looks like you're gonna need to start sleepin' with the lights on again."
Grinning, she said, "Lights, shmites. Plus, I don't think my roomie would like that very much..." Though Cassie wasn't too sure on how much Bestsy would care in truth.
"So, you're thinking about something, right?" she asked curiously. Either she was getting worse or better with her weaker ability.
Victor would certainly have had a few more things to say if he'd known that Betsy was Cassie's room-mate. As it was, he was too busy staring at the blonde, his thoughts now straying towards the lewd, and it made his smile grow even wider.
"You really ain't that good a 'path, are ya?" he smirked, although the tone of his voice was light-hearted and jovial rather than contemptuous. "Everyone's always thinkin' 'bout somethin'."
She fiddled with the ends of her gloves. "I'm not. I'm crap at it." Cassie looked up at him with a slight tilt of her head. "I think I like it when it's quiet though." Massive headaches were the reprocussion of trying too hard or picking up on many thoughts, so she was fine with being crappy at it.
"SO what are you doing out here?" She questioned, changing the subject. "Enjoying the...snow?"
He laughed, staring right back at Cassie, and he had to admit he was curious. It was obvious that he was pretty dangerous. The girl didn't seem to be aware of that - or she was choosing to ignore it, for some reason.
Slap me for the late reply. -_-;;acold_burdenMarch 25 2010, 16:38:16 UTC
Cassie laughed. "They must've thought it was time for you to come out of time-out."
She was trying her hardest to get something from his mind, anything. Tilting her head curiously, she asked, "Still a little angry at Emma?" That was the only trail she'd gotten. Cassie knew she had to pratice more somehow.
