*Tristan wandered the camp in search of Martini. If he could age him to this age, maybe, just maybe, he could leave him here. Sure, Owen would no longer be the oldest and his parents might have an issue with it but he'd be safe again. People would be able to stand near him without fear of having their throats torn out if he shifted. In the end it was Martini's choice, he just hoped he could convince him that in the long term it was for the best.*

Martini was still on a bit of high from having his powers back. He was bouncing, quite literally, around the camp outside. He had so little to do, and so much time in which to do it. Or was it the other way around?

He spied someone approaching him that he did not recognize. Focusing for a moment, he saw the man as he had once been, and then how he would look later. Looks like putting up with being an old man had left him something good after all. It was Tristan. He stopped bouncing like a lunatic for a moment. "What's up?"

Not a lot.

*Tristan fidgeted. He wasn't sure how well Martini would take his question and it made him nervous.*

Actually, I have a question... *he waved to himself*... about this.

Martini sighed, stopping his bouncing yet again. It seemed like he had been getting the same question over and over again. At least now he could give them all a concrete answer, instead of vague ifs and whens.

"If you want to know when I can change you back, the answer is right now, if you'd like."

No. No, not that. Actually...

*He bit his lip and took a deep breath.*

... I wanna know if I can... stay like this.

*Tristan was feeling rather nervous about the whole thing. He knew it was what he wanted, but he wasn't sure how Martini would feel.*

Huh. Well that was different. Martini raised an eyebrow increduously. All he had been getting was requests of people wanting to be their own ages again. This was the first time he had met someone who wanted to stay the age they had been shifted to. And frankly, he wasn't exactly keen on the idea.

There was just one question he had for Tristan. "Why?"

I'm dangerous Martini, you've seen that.

*After all, he had almost changed on Martini the first time he met him and he had attacked Bradley at one point. He took a deep breath.*

I can control it like this. I'm not a danger to people like this. I understand if you don't want to, but...

*He looked down.*

I don't want to be scared to be around people for fear I'll hurt them.

Martini's eyes took on a flat look and he folded his arms as he thought over Tristan's request. He pondered the puzzle before him. On one hand, Tristan not turning into an attack animal would solve a crisis for the youth. On the other hand, it didn't sit right with him, leaving the time manipulated around someone. He didn't know long term affects of such a change, but knew the psychological damage that could happen to person through such a drastic change.

Finally coming to a desicion, his green eyes became more alert as he looked at Tristan. "Most mutants are dangerous to some extent or another. You don't want a soltuion to your problem, you want a shortcut. And that won't solve what's going on up here." Martini pointed to his head. Before Tristan could protest, Martini held up a hand, indicating he had more to say. "But I won't force you to change back if you don't want to." He knew trying to dissuade someone who was, still mentally a teenager, would be pointless. If Tristan wanted to make his own mistakes, let him.

I understand what you're saying, please know that, Martini and if you're completely against it, I'm fine with that and do your thing.

*He took another deep breath and waited.*

Martini sighed. He was having to think in a logical manner, and it hurt his brain. He stood there, fiddling with his watches, going over every argument and counter argument in his head one more time. Finally coming to a conclusion, he gave a long, drawn out sigh.

"I won't force my powers on you, Tristan. You can stay the way you are." Even as he said the words, Martini felt still felt uneasy. He had no idea if he was making the right desicion or not. Only time would tell. And that was the scariest thought of all.

*Tristan nodded, muttering a thank you. He could tell Martini wasn't pleased, but he was grateful that he'd let him stay this way. Maybe he'd be able to see Camilla again, without fear of killing her.*
