It'd been nearly a month since the mission and the gunshot wound in Kat's side still twinged. It was more the presence of the knot of scar tissue that bothered her than the fact that it hadn't healed. The doctors in the med bay had been more than skilled in making sure that she didn't get an infection and Kat had never screwed around with any schedule that required her on medicines. She knew better. She'd seen plenty of people in the military suffer because they'd been injured and then ignored the medical staff.
She didn't intend on being laid up for another couple of weeks in the med bay hooked to antibiotic IVs because she decided to be lazy and skip her pills.
Kat needed food with this round of medicine, though, so she pulled herself out of bed and dressed, making her way to the cafeteria. Stepping in, she headed straight for the junk food. She'd been avoiding it for three weeks. She figured that stuffing herself silly with things that weren't necessarily good for her was long overdue. Grumbling at the poor state of the sweets and junk, as the entire camp seemed overrun with children and boy did kids like that kind of stuff, she grabbed what she could and headed for one of the tables, sitting down and stretching out her legs with a groan before she dug in.
