Tea Time (OTA)

Nov 20, 2009 19:29

With everyone using the stove, the kitchen/dining room area was the only bloody room in the whole compound with any kind of warmth. The tea she brought from home but given she didn’t have the right kind of pot, kettle, or infuser she was left with a bastardized version that tasted slightly metallic.

Betsy had music playing from her new phone. Some old Four Tops tune that got her head bopping so she left it and sunk a little deeper into the blanket she had wrapped around her shoulders. She could have been on a beach smelling of coconut body oil while chatting up some yuppie as he bought her drinks with umbrellas in them. She could have gone to England for the season. It would have been cold but it was lovely when all the leaves changed. She could have been anywhere else but she was here and it was starting to get depressing.
