Tournament: Round One

Nov 08, 2009 11:49

It was Zero's job to clear out the weapons hanger for the tournament. While it seemed like the most improper place for such a thing, where they were, it actually was perfect. The building was larger than any room in the dormitories and it had the most wide open space. All that needed to be done was to move the shelves containing weapons on the ( Read more... )

Jessie was stretching when Victor came in. Damn he was big. Even without the teeth and claws he would be a formidable adversary. She had been looking forward to this.

She had watched him fight with his brother, Victor liked to drop low and lunge at his opponent. But he was also adaptable and smart with a lot of years of fighting experence. He would likely make assumptions about her though, that she would be a push over just because she was a woman. Jessie wasn't about to make it easy for him. She had wrapped her hands and feet to protect her webbing, and left off wearing shoes. She didn't want to seriously hurt him anyway.

Stepping into the ring, she answered his glower with a smile. "You ready to dance, big boy?"

He recognised the girl as she stepped into the ring opposite him - he hadn't spoken to her much, but he recalled approaching her when she'd first arrived, and being able to intimidate her, even if it had only been by a small amount. He could work on that. He broke into a broad grin for effect, only realising at the last minute that he no longer had the fangs which made his smile seem so threatening; then, he frowned, still managing a growl from the depths of his throat as he sneered at her, still confident of his victory.

"Only if you're ready to lose, bitch. You sure you don't wanna just lie down on your back and get this over with right now?"

Oh, he thought she was going to be easy? He hadn't intimidated her when she first arrived, so much as just startled her. And she wasn't afraid of him now.

Jessie laughed. "Now what makes you think I'm gonna lose, Victor? Or are you just afraid you'll break a finger nail?"

That was a jibe too far for him, at least right now; it was immediately obvious that he lacked his usual claws, his disgustingly human nails - although caked with dirt - a far cry from what he was used to. If she'd been aiming for his weak spot, she'd certainly found it. He sneered at her as she mocked him, his body already adopting an offensive stance, muscles bunching and tensing as he faced off against her, his hackles rising.

"I'll break your goddamn neck!"

With a snarl, he launched himself towards her - as she'd expected, his move was a cat-like pounce aimed towards her lower body, his intention to unbalance and topple her so he could finish her off as she was grounded.

That touched a nerve. She watched his muscles tense and was ready when he lunged, just as she had expected. For a big guy, he moved very fast, even without his 'powers.' She jumped to the left grabbed his arm and used his forward momentum to flip him.

He crashed hard into the mat, landing on his back with his feet just barely in bounds. There was a look of surprise that quickly changed to rage on his face.

Jessie smiled down at him. "Hmmm. You mentioned something about lying down on your back and just getting it over with?"

Growling, he clambered to his feet and glared at her, flexing his fingers as he did so, an unconscious reaction to the situation; what he wouldn't give to have his claws back now, to 'accidentally' slash open her chest, expose her soft underbelly and send her guts pouring out. But that wasn't an option right now, and he hissed at her, moving more warily now, circling her as he tried to focus on a weak spot.

"You'll be the one lying on your back for me later, you whore," he sneered, his eyes deliberately flicking to her chest, her backside, the hint of a nasty smile on his features. "Wonder just how wide those legs of yours can open?"

Now Victor was truly pissed. She'd pushed him too far, and she knew it. Jessie had been playing with him before. This was supposed to be sparring and he was taking it all far too seriously. The look in his eyes as he circled her was pure murder.

She prepared herself for a vicious attack. Circling around opposite him, Jessie watched him carefully to see which way he would move next. From his insults she knew that he wanted her to lose her temper in return, do something hasty and stupid. Or shrink back from him in fear, admit that he scared her and step out of bounds herself to end it.

She determined she would do neither. Unfortunately, she had a stubborn streak. And she knew if she gave in, he'd forever think that he could scare her into submission, so he'd keep doing it. The only way out now would be to win. Show him that she could beat him.

With a loud snarl, he suddenly flung himself at her, his movements deceptively quick and agile considering his size and bulk; he was like some kind of big game animal, all muscle and speed, launching himself towards her on all fours like a lion on the hunt. Whereas before he'd aimed for her midriff, now he was heading for her neck, his lips drawn back and teeth bared as if he were going to tear out her throat.

Jessie watched him come at her on all fours. It was one of the weirdest things she'd ever seen. She almost forgot to move. This time he was aiming higher. She started to spin out of the way at the last second.

He caught her as he flew at her neck, swiping at her with his hands outstretched, instinctively trying to rake her with his claws but succeeding only in knocking her off-balance; he landed behind her with a roar, his hands grabbing at her arms as he righted himself and moved into a standing position behind her, trying to pin her arms.

She hadn't moved fast enough. Shit. He snagged her by the arms and pulled her against him. Victor wrapped his long arms around her, pinning her arms against her chest, and pulling her tight against his body. His fingers dug into her arms hard as he crushed the air out of her. She cried out.

"What's the matter, girl? You don't like it from behind?"

Smirking and purring, he leaned in to sneer at her, his breath warm against her neck as one of his hands strayed down to her backside, groping and touching at her ass. He didn't care that they had an audience - if anything, it only made him enjoy it more, showing them all what he could do, and that there was nothing anyone could do to stop it. There had been nothing said in the rules about being able to torment your opponent.

"You cry out like that every time you have a guy behind you?"

"Only if their breath stinks as bad as yours," she ground out between clenched teeth, turning her head away from him as far as she could. His hand wandered her ass and he ground his hips against her. Sick bastard. Jessie had had enough.

She kicked with her left leg as high as she could, and was rewarded with a satisfying crunch when she made contact with his face. He let go of her stumbling back a couple of steps. She took the opportunity and spun, planting a savage kick in the center of his chest. She wasn't going to give him a chance to recover.

"As if I would ever let you ..." She spun, round house kicking him, making him take another step backward. She kicked again, "touch me again!" Another stumbling step backward and he was over the boundary line.

Another kick, "You Sick!" and another step back, "Psycho!" another kick, "Motherfucker!!!" He tripped over his own feet and went down hard on the cement floor. Jessie kept at him even though she had won. She kicked him in the side as he rolled away from her.

Jessie Wins! Victor is Fail (for now) watch_the_nails November 11 2009, 18:54:32 UTC
He snarled up at her as he realised he'd lost, annoyed and frustrated, sure that if he'd had his mutations - if he'd had his claws, and his fangs, and hadn't lost his regeneration - he could have made mincemeat of the presumptuous little bitch there and then. This was all Olivia's fault, that pathetic, snivelling whore. He'd find her, and he'd make her pay.

He was far from finished with Jessie, too. If and when his mutations returned - which he hoped they would since if they didn't, he'd literally have to kill the bitch who had sapped them from him - he'd make sure to find Jessie and finish what she'd started.
