With everything being so damn cold, Jane avoiding the whole 'lets go outside during the day' thing because it was just insane, and really, he didn't like cold that much. His stint serving in Antarctica had proved that to him years ago. Instead he sat in the mess hall, his fire arm taken apart on the table in front of him, cleaning it out ( Read more... )

While others may have been complaining about the cold and the change of location, Scion embraced it. He didn't mind , not at all. When he was given a mission he was constantly being sent back and forth from location to location. He was rather used to never having a place to calm home and always having to readjust his life according to where he was. The cold didn't bother X-13, nor did the heat, the rain, the snow- nothing seemed to faze this man. He was the definition of the perfect soldier, quiet, constantly yearning to please, the whole local ( ... )

Jane glanced up, a smile on his face when he noted it was Scion -talk much, no not really, but he could appreciate the good solider routine as much as anyone else. "Yeah, sure. Pull up a seat."

Scion was just a little on the drone side but he was for all intents and purposes a decent enough guy; wasn't snoring in his sleep or threatening to gut anyone. All in all it worked fine. "Grabbing some grub?"

Scion nodded in thanks to the invitation, his eyes flickering green as he pulled up a chair telekinetically. He took his seat, placing the tray on the table, everything set up neat and pristine on his place. All the necessary food groups were covered, his pills were in a cup for him to take right next to his large glass of water. Everything about the mutant was totally and completely perfect because he was so used to being the little soldier boy. He cut the meat in clean little squares, sticking his fork in to it neatly as he brought the food to his mouth, looking over at Jane his eyes flickering to the cup of tea.

"Yes, are you not hungry?"

"Nah," Jane smirked at Scion's easy use of powers, "not that hungry, just chilling instead." It was a little strange how routine everything was for Scion, everything was so in order, it was almost creepy.

Jane on the other hand wasn't quite as dedicated a soldier. Did he follow the rules, yes. Did he eat, sleep and breath the Air Force, sure enough. But he did have his other interests, life didn't solely revolve around his career, his orders or rank.

And since his superiors discovered his mutation, it seemed like something else was going to have to build in importance.

"'chilling'." Scion repeated, his brow perking in confusion. "...Are you cold? Would you like my coat?" 'chillin' wasn't really a term that X-13 was used to. He sat up in the chair, pulling his coat off his shoulders and held it out for Lt.Jane to take.

Terms like that, normal human interactions where what were sacrificed when Scion was taken in to the X-13 program. He never played with kids his own age, hell he never played period. He never talking to anyone unless it was for training, or it related to the mission in some way. Truth be told because he was so not used to talking with people the idea of being assigned a room mate sort of terrified poor little Scion. The idea of having someone constantly there in his quarters when he was so used to a life of seclusion and loneliness. It freaked him out, however Lt.Jane Worth was proving to be less than terrifying than Scions messed up mind had thought up of.

"No, no, not cold like that." Yeah, this kid really was a little too literal. "Chillin' just sort of means, y'know, hanging out or relaxing." He had a feeling he'd be explaining a lot of things to this kid, but then again, whatever made him happy.

Or stoic and calm as always seemed.

"It's just a term for terms sake." Jane said, placing the barrel of his gun on the table under his cloth. "Remind me to buy you an Urban Dictionary, yeah."

"Oh." Scion blinked, feeling foolish as he pulled his coat back over his arms, butting it up. "My apologies. I had never heard that term before." He settled back down in his seat, cutting at the piece of meat as he glanced over at Worth, taking a bite from his fork. "Urban dictionary. I shall look it up."

Chew twenty times and swallow. Repeat. Repeat. He placed the fork down, reaching for his belt and pulled up a small case, unzipping it revealing a pack of needles and medicine. He pulled it out and began to fill the syringe. "Have you been assigned any missions yet?"
