Hey peeps - quick note.
Last week I did a thorough examination of my resume with my old boss, and he gave me a great suggestion that I thought you all could benefit from as well. He suggested that I organize my resume in functional groupings instead of chronological, since my work experience is a bit scattered/all my job descriptions sound exactly like that - just job descriptions and not accomplishments. This, he criticized, does not reflect me as a person, and in fact I sound dull and too black and white when I am trying to apply for more creative, public relations-type jobs - the kind that don't want dull people.
I've been reading a bit about functional resumes, and for my situation (recent college grad, minimal professional experience) it seems like the format to take. Have any of you had success with this route? And if so, do you know of any good websites that are helpful for writing a resume in this style?
Thanks!
