I applied to a job earlier today and ran into a situation that I'm not sure how to handle. I found the position on Craigslist, and they listed a company email address that we should apply to (rather than the typical gibberish Craigslist ones), along with a specific person, X. I sent my resume and cover letter, and got back an email saying that this guy was on vacation, and if we were interested in applying for a position as [job I applied for] we should contact this other person, Y. Should I send the same cover letter and resume to Y? Should I mention that I'm sending it to Y because X is on vacation? Thanks for any insights!
