Thoughts from a foreign country.... rustica January 27 2011, 13:48:33 UTC
All jobs anywhere are pretty mundane when you get down to the detail of them! I'd say there's a fair amount you could bring out from what you've said already.

Cashiering - trustworthy and numerate,
Retail - dealing with the general public,
Rides operator - active job, not afraid to get your hands dirty.

Try to emphasise - did you actively sell stuff when you were working in retail? Did you work well in a team environment in fast food? Did you volunteer for extra shifts or duties anywhere? Did you have sole responsibility for your ride in the amusement park? Did you always balance your till/ledger as a cashier?

Also get some visibility into what these jobs involved: what kind of transactions were you dealing with as a cashier (cash, credit cards, cheques, vouchers, foreign currency)? What was your customer base in retail, what age, what demographic, what spending power? What was the size of the team you worked in in fast food? Who did you report to in all of these jobs, and how?

Try to put your job into context within the business more generally. Can you put figures on it, eg what size the business was? Have a look on the internet - see if your previous employers have accounts up on their website which give an idea of their turnover, whether they say how many customers they deal with in a year, how many staff they employ, etc.
