So I'm on my 10th month of unemployment and I feel like I have to do something to help my situation, so if anyone has any recommendations or tips for me.
Background info about me:
Bachelors degree in a liberal arts field (minor in business)
Masters degree in a business field
Experience:
1 year teaching in Korea
3 month internship at the census bureau
3 month retail in a mall
7 month part time at a university graduate office
4 month part time volunteer as a scanning clerk at a city office
2 volunteer programs at elementary schools during my undergraduate years (one was a reading program, one was a science program)
My job hunting process has been:
1) USAjobs
2) Looking at specific city/county/state agency websites for employment opportunities
3) Looking at the universities I graduated from's job search sites
4) Occasionally linkedin, craigslist, and very rarely monster/careerbuilder
5) Also looked into temp agencies
So, should I....
1) Take some accounting classes and take the CPA exam
2) Get a teaching certificate
3) Try a new different certificate or masters program? (Nursing?)
4) Something else? or Wait it out until I get a job?
