Tstorms. The front lawn is probably ankle deep at the lowest point. I'm not attempting to cut wet grass even with a push mower.
Yesterday we awoke to a building T storm. Since i've been hit by lightning and lived, i'm mostly the same, except i refuse to shower in a T storm unless i really have to go somewhere. I decided to skip the grocery store and swept all the floors, cleaned the litterboxes that get used when we're gone and the cats are inside, and finish some laundry. The litter, even tho it's crystals, gave off to much dust for my sinus pressure to remain normal so i finally gave in and took an aspirin for the pain.
Thunderstorms lasted most of the day. I took out some prociuitto from the freezer to make a bean soup since usually it's too hot to think about stew, soup, or even hot food in july in the swamp. With the temps in the high seventies outside i figured, why not. It's a combo of directions from differing folks on food network. The salt level was way to high even for me, miz saltaholic. The 'ham' wasn't from italy; So much for german attempts at italian pork. Blech. The leftovers will be a good starter for the autumn. They are in the freezer.
Mostly we are emptying the freezers because i'm tired of having to deal with the hurricane evacs, packing everything with ice or hauling it out with us at evacuation time. I didn't want to make something that we'd have to put IN the freezer and used the medium skillet to limit my creative adding of ingredients. Stew and soup pots make far too much for two, even a hungry toad. In the winter i make large amounts on purpose and send them off with toad for lunches and for dinners when i'm too tired after working.
The sun is just coming out. I'm headed to the grocery store for a few items and to walk in the ac. Yesterday i went up and down the stairs and around the house but it's not the same. Maybe tonight we can go walk on the bayside walkways.
Tomorrow is the balloon festival. We're hoping to have nice weather and go watch. I've never been up in an airballoon, but i have seen the mass liftoff in Alburquerque. Competition flight in at six-thirty am, but if there's rain it's off.
Have a great weekend.
