walking by the bay

Last night after work toad rang up the chinese place we like, placed a larger than usual order, (i think he rolled his eyes again about the poptart i ate yesterday at work) and off we went to go pick it up armed with forks, a bottle of fizzy water, napkins and bug repellant.

I got to sit in the car while toad fetched dinner. Ah, a relaxing moment. We drove to the bay and sat at the picnic table eating and drinking to the sound of the bay waves. One of the containers was so stuffed full that they stapled it closed since the paper fastner couldn't be managed. It did close after we emptied it considerably.

A sailing ship with tan sails was gliding through the water. I've noticed this one before because of the distinctive sail colors. A cruise ship or huge freightship was making turns in the bay, probably following a channel. Mobile downtown was encased in misty droplets, an odd blue grey against the brilliant blue of the bay and puffy white clouded blue sky.

I ate one last piece of broccoli and said I was too full to eat more. I hadn't noticed how full I actually was. I joked this morning that i'd eaten as much as toad, and how could he possibly eat breakfast. I just drank my protein in coffee a few moments ago because I was still full. (Pc clock says 11:59 now)

We walked along the bayside walk, the former front yard walkways when the bay was the main street. Even the water meters are on that side, and the homes face the sea in grandure and simplicity depending upon each personality. One set of swings has been taken down, Ivan mayhap was too much for their stability.

We walked down one tiny road as well. There's a mailbox there with two names upon it. I.B. Crabby and U.B. Fishy. I wonder if anyone actually writes to the summerhome with those names. I'd be interested in finding out.

Two people, perhaps three were on a balcony. Very incongruinous it was, these people playing disco-bop sounding crud in front of a very formal blue house. Somehow I just do not think they belong there. Construction is in progress on their dock so maybe these folks were acting the owners.

I thought of a story title and have to write the book to go with it. I closed a gate for a woman on a john deer lawnmower tractor as we walked along. We sat and rested in some plastic adorandak chairs and then walked again before we returned home.

The answering machine was beeping. My dad had called, as had my brother. My nephew even said happy birthday auntie nina in his new hampshire accented speech. My mom then called. This marks the first time my entire family has called me on my birthday. Toad mentioned that dead-mike had not, but i stated that was just fine. I didn't need him to call.

I walked this morning along the road and golf course. There's something about Thursday golfers that makes them much nicer than Monday golfers. I don't know what it was, but people were polite today. I did not go as far today, perhaps only two miles. Monday was four at least. It was too hot to continue so I came home.

Arlo is still out enjoying the freedom after being trapped inside most of yesterday. I still marvel at how we've made him a inside at night, outside during the morning and sometimes afternoon cat.

Laundry to be done, more folded and put away today.

Toad and i selected a frog box for my birthday from the art fair. I was also given another frog on a box yesterday. Is there frog containment? :)
