Trialing with the boy and Flyte update

Jan 10, 2014 09:38

So, I'm going to try trialing Teague the 24-26th down in Santa Rosa. It's been since the Halloween trial in Medford since we've trialed, so I'm hoping everything hangs together. I have seen no signs of lameness now for a while, even with jumping and lots of hiking. He's looking good. I do want to have more exercises specifically for the crucial ligament, so if anyone has some to suggest, I'd love to hear them.

Flyte is coming along. It's sort of ridiculous though that I can do these twisty courses that Sylvia has at the end of the Foundation Course, but we can't jump in a straight line. Ummm, really? HELP!!!!! I also haven't worked on her weaves much or too far into contacts. Like Ms. T I have a bit of contact fear. I know I want a running AF, but can't decide on the DW. I don't think I want to teach the teeter the way that ST does because in the US, at least in AKC, you have to hold the teeter much longer than they do in Europe, and USDAA. So, I think I need a different method than she teaches. I'm thinking maybe regular 2o/2o.....

And egads I can't remember how I taught the teeter last time? Or multiple times I've taught students? ridiculous! Am I sure I should have a dog to train?

We're up in Truckee/Tahoe for a few days playing with the dogs and hiking - no snow to do any snowshoeing or other really snow-type activities. But we're having fun and sweating up a storm hiking in 40 degree weather. Yeah hiking with dogs :)
