Kicking That Bucket List

Oct 29, 2011 08:44

I know no one reads them but me, but still, just in case there is someone out there wondering, I am planning on putting up my next Xena review today. I realize it's been a couple weeks but I'm too lazy to write them during the week and last weekend, it just wasn't in the cards.

So there you go.

But for now I wanted to get all list-like. Because I really love lists. They're so . . . organized. And easy to follow.

For some reason, over the last few weeks, the term "bucket list" has come up in conversation among myself and my colleagues/friends. Maybe we see ourselves in a scary job that makes us feel like our lives are quickly coming to an end. I'm not sure. But, whatever the reason, I've been considering it more lately.

Here's my list . . . So far (not in a particular order):

1) See Paul Simon/Simon and Garfunkel in concert (and Paul's coming to North Carolina in December so . . . I'm determined to cross this one off the list)
2) Go to the Olympics
3) Go to a men's World Cup
4) Go to a women's World Cup
5) Visit each continent
6) Live in a foreign country for at least six months
7) Find a job I like a hell of a lot more than being a teacher
8) Attend the French Open
9) Attend the Australian Open
10) Get a tattoo
11) Run a marathon
12) Bike across a country
13) Learn to rock climb

I live a quiet life so I have a rather quiet bucket list . . . But it's open to changes. (And I left off shit like "have a committed lifetime relationship that's not marriage" and "children!" because it doesn't make sense to put things on a bucket list that you can't actually control.)

lists ftw!
