Thank you, Yorda! Your encouragement is invaluable.

Intelligence is not the same as wisdom, though I dare say the universe would be better off if this were so. But thank you for saying so.

In-valu-a-bul? What is that mean?

So intelligence is not sin-a-min of wisdom. I see. Intelligence is knowing. Wisdom is understanding. Yes?

You are welcome. And you are both. Intelligence and wisdom. The letters already make many sense to you, yes? But they still have many, many thing to say. Listen and they will make more sense.

It means that where words of encouragement are concerned, yours are ones that I am more than honored to recieve.

Yes, this is true. Many young people are intelligent, but not as many are wise, and a person can obtain wisdom without the benefit of exceptional intelligence. You, however, are wise already - and generous, to call me so. I thank you, my dear.

I could give you a hand if it's giving you trouble? Getting better at English, that is!

Though I've never really been a teacher before...

I would not object to a proofreader, if you're so inclined.

You got it. It's my chance to repay you for all you've taught me!

Ah, my dear, a dedicated student is her teacher's own reward.

Speaking of help - I have some oolong tea that I could use some help finishing. Would you care to assist me, my friend?

English is one of the most difficult languages to learn as your second. Your grammar is better than most people's whose native language is English.

By some universal oddity, I have no trouble at all understanding the spoken language of this world. It sounds, to my ear, entirely like the one I have spoken all my life. It is merely the written portion that escapes me.

Ms. Frizzle has informed me that in her world, my style of writing is attributed to a language known as Chinese.

English isn't your first language? You sound pretty fluent to me.

Would you believe that I've spoken it all my life, and never heard it called "English" before?

Seriously? I don't know what else you'd call it...where I'm from, it's always called English.

There are dialects across the regions, but for the most part, all of the people of my world speak a common language. I suppose I should be grateful that the people of THIS world do as well . . .

Hee hee, I agree. Japanese was my first language, but I had to learn a lot of English in school. Lucky thing, otherwise I'd be in trouble here!

Yes, it's quite fortunate that we share a common language! Imagine how much more difficult it would be for all of us if we had come from lands with dissimilar tongues?

Oh jeez, that would be horrible! No one would understand anything! Mou, when you look at it that way, it's really lucky that Japan was big on teaching English in schools~

I know! The confusion would be terrible. However would we be alerted of the Daily Death Threats with no common language to sound them in? We would miss out on so very much.
