Oh, brilliant day. The weather is beautifully warm just now, so after work I chose to walk home up 8th Ave through Chelsea and the Theater District. Hugely relaxing to just wander with camera.

Along the way, I also found a solution to one of the long-standing problems we've had with the city: donuts here just don't compare to any of the west coast college towns we've been living in for the last decade. Dunkin' is a constant threat everywhere in the city, and while their hot chocolate is cravable, their donuts are pretty horrible whenever we try them out. But walking up near Penn Station I saw a place advertising specifically what we've craved: "Best Apple Fritters in Town." Although it wasn't quite the same as the good Korean donut places in Riverside or San Diego, it was really a quality piece of junk food. Deeeelicous.

After the walk home we hurried over to dinner reservations at Zengo (excellent quality Latin/Asian fusion), followed by a show from Frigid Festival. It is always stunning how different theater is here, with very few exceptions every random thing is really brilliant.
