Well, after coming to terms with being diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrom, and my 2 - 5% chance of ever having another child.....I'm pregnant!
I'm 12 weeks and 6 days today and went for an ultrasound today and everything looks a-okay with the baby. We found out about a month ago that I was pregnant, and I've been on pins and needles since hoping that the baby would be viable and that I wouldn't miscarry......and my prayers have been answered.
The chances of me miscarrying are still higher than the average, but are now much lower so I can breath a sigh of relief.
I was feeling kinda crappy and tired, but didn't think much of it other than I was getting run down. Then, I happened upon a pregnancy test in the hall closet. I was going to throw it away, because I assumed I wouldn't need it for quite some time. Then, because I'm cheap, I thought, I can't just throw out a perfectly good test....but if I pee on it, it won't be perfectly good any more! And it turned out positive!!! Holy crap I can't even tell you what I was feeling. I called Mike and told him to come home, and bring another test. He did, and that one was positive too.
Then off to the doctor, who just laughed and shook his head, and then two back to back ultrasounds to figure out how far along I am and then the nucal to make sure everything is okay with the baby.
it turns out that the week I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovary syndrom, is the week that I got pregnant. Ironic isn't it.
Anyway, baby Mac will be making its appearance some time around December 1.
