Oiy!
My best friend moved to Barbados yesterday - and I already miss her! She's been there through all the momentus occasions in my life. Remarkably, I kept my promise and didn't cry until after she walked through the security gates, but then I bawled! I wish her so much happiness and am already saving for a trip.
Yay, we finally got the baby's room all set up, painted, trimed and furnitured. I've been feeling anxious about that recently so I'm so glad it's done now. And it looks great if I do say so. We're just waiting for the little one to be born so that we can do some gender appropriate accessorizing.
Alex is wanting to lay down in the crib and spends lots of time in there reading to her babies that she lovingly tucks into the crib. I'm pretty sure she has no concept that when this baby is born, it's going to be an actual person and not just like her dolls that can be put aside when she wants to play with something else. Alex and I are so close, and I don't want to do anything that will break that bond, but I know there will be times that her needs are going to be secondary to the baby's. When I left for the airport last night, I told her where I was going and when I'd be back and of course had lots of snuggles but when it came to bed time she had a melt down and told Mike that I hadn't given her goodbye snuggles and that I wasn't coming back. He assured her that mommies ALWAYS come back and that I'd see her tomorrow but that didn't provide a whole lot of comfort. I woke her up when I got home, just so she'd know that I was there - considering I'm already at work when she wakes up.
Well, another week is getting ready to fly by - I'm ready!!!
