Who: Allelujah and Setsuna
Where: Allelujah's hut
When: Day or two after Valentine's Day
Warnings: ..Slight fluff/cheesyness?
Rating: PG
Notes: This is adorable. And awkward. xD
Summary: An every day occurrence turns out differently.

Allelujah walked out of the bathroom, relaxed from the hot shower he'd just taken. So much so that not even Hallelujah's grumbling about walking around the hut he shared with a madman such as Farfarello in just a towel wrapped around his waist encouraged him to have brought a clean change of clothes. So he silently padded back to the room he shared with Setsuna, still rubbing a second towel over his hair.

The colder weather seemed to disagree with the younger Meister, as he spent much of his time sleeping, contracting small colds and headaches, eating, exercising, and working on the Gundams. While he was in their shared bed, he was sitting up, leafing through a book and slightly smudged from earlier work on the Gundams. He glanced up when Allelujah came in, nodding slightly in acknowledgment.

Allelujah honestly did not mind looking after the other man, he only did the same in return. He caught the nod and gave a small smile, closing the door after he'd walked in. Noticing the smudge, he walked over, and without really thinking about it, reached over to gently wipe it off.

Setsuna blinked, going nearly cross eyed to try and look at the other's finger on his face. It was true they slept together (in the most innocent sense of the term mind), but beyond those hours at night pressed close to ward off the nightmares they had little such contact. "Thank you," he murmured, at least having the decency to be grateful.

It was more of a comfort, knowing there was someone else there with him. Allelujah's smile turned a bit amused at the cross-eyed look Setsuna gave. "You are welcome," he responded. He let his hand drop before moving away again, only then looking for a change of clothes. After as long as they'd been living together as they had, he'd lost a portion of his modesty, enough to not feel the need to leave the room to change. So he simply pulled on his sleep pants and a tank top. "Are you feeling better?"

"The headache is gone," he affirmed, having woken up with something close to a screwdriver burrowing into his head sort of feeling. Tea and some medicine fixed it, as did some work. "I ate at the hangar."

"Good." At the risk of sounding like a mother-hen (which admittedly he found himself becoming when it came to Setsuna), Allelujah frowned slightly as he dressed. "What did you eat?"

"Fruit, a small sandwich," Setsuna gave the answer, knowing it was pointless to dance around it. Allelujah would find out one way or the other. "More tea." If he minded the mother hen persona he did not say so, though there were times he frowned a bit deeper than usual in response to it. Now he just answered and flipped a page.

In his defense, Allelujah did try not to hover. And succeeded most of the time, as he did keep going to work, and worked out. He just..tended to avoid doing much else when the other was ill. He nodded, accepting that at least the other knew to eat healthily, as well as stick to tea. "Care for some more tea?"

"I think I've had enough," Setsuna flipped another page, keeping his gaze downwards on the pages. The book was highly technical, but it seemed that he had no problem reading it or understanding. "How was work?" he attempted some small conversation.

Such as now. Allelujah refrained from plying soup or such into the other. Now comfortably dressed, he walked back over to the bed and settled down next to Setsuna, looking at the pages with interest. "The same as usual." In other words, Tsuzuki attempted to get out of it as much as possible by taking naps, and Pluto was quiet when she was there and/or sewing in the back room. "Any trouble with either of your Gundams?"

He shook his head slowly, relaxing a bit with Allelujah's heat beside him. "They function fine. Nothing goes red on the red outs." Which meant Setsuna mostly polished and fine tuned the machines, and nothing more. What else was there for him to do? He had nothing to fight, on this island.

Allelujah nodded, stretching out after a moment. "Good. Ribbons has not made another attempt yet?" He knew they'd likely have heard about it by now if he had, but he had not gone to look himself for a few days. His haro remained in Kyrios' cockpit, monitering and otherwise making sure everything was fine.

"Not that I know of, and I have both gundams encrypted locked, along with voice recognition password." How effective that would be against Ribbons was only a guess, but for now it seemed to be doing the trick. He looked down at the man stretched beside him, fingers dropping in an idle motion to the soft hair, a motion he had picked up at night when Allelujah tossed with dreams and he lay awake.

Allelujah gave another small nod. "Good. I have told my haro to keep an eye on the hangar in general." That was an added protection, as far as he knew, Ribbons did not have the ability to interfere with the haros unless he had them at hand. But, as his haro was not to leave the cockpit..that wasn't going to happen easily. He reflexively leaned into the idle gesture, knowing it as a comfort. He wasn't aware of the small smile that appeared at the touch, but it was there all the same.

"Is it set to alert us if someone comes in?" he inquired, fingers taking up a short stroking motion.

Allelujah let his eyes close at the motion. "Yes, via the journal system."

"Good," he nodded, turning a page in his book though his fingers did not falter.

He forced his eyes back open after a few minutes and sat up, a bit surprised to find he missed the contact. Shaking his head slightly, he glanced at Setsuna. "Hungry?"

"Not really," Setsuna shrugged, which could mean anything come from the Meister as he wasn't to big on eating regular meals.

Allelujah quirked a slightly amused smile at that and lay back down, resting his head on his hands. "Let me know if you get hungry then, alright?"

Which was just as unlikely to happen. "As you say," Setsuna flipped another page, hand returning to the gentle touch.

"Hm." Which was why he'd said 'if'. Allelujah knew he'd be getting up a bit later and fixing something quick, more heating some soup from the night before than anything new. If he was honest with himself, he'd admit he was glad Setsuna had said he wasn't really hungry-it meant he didn't have to leave the other's company just yet.

After a time Setsuna closed his book and set it aside, and simply remained where he was. It was as if he did not know what to do next, and his conversation skills were poor at best. But Allelujah had to know that. "What is this holiday everyone is celebrating?" he finally asked to break the silence.

Allelujah did not mind the fact Setsuna wasn't the best conversationalist, he wasn't either. At the question, he hesitated, thinking of the best way to explain it. Simplest was best, right? "It..is a holiday for couples." He'd never experienced it as such for himself, though last year he'd taken Sumeragi to the island's dance-as friends as he wasn't quite sure about things then. Not that he was now, either.

"But... why?" Setsuna continued. The holiday made absolutely no sense to his sensibilities, none whatsoever.

That got a thoughtful frown. "From what I have seen...Couples celebrate being together somehow.."

"If they are together all the time there should be little point in celebration," Setsuna affirmed.

"I believe it is supposed to be extra romantic on that day," Allelujah gave a small shrug.

"That makes no sense," Setsuna asserted again.

Allelujah couldn't help an amused smile. "No arguement there. I have simply seen it create a sense of excitement in people."

Setsuna shook his head, not understanding. With a grunt he rose to put the book up and splash water on his face, feet padding with quiet slaps across the wooden floor.

Allelujah watched the other walk around for a moment before quietly asking, "Why do you ask?"

"Because this island seems infatuated with it," he said, and went no deeper than that, though it was anyone's guess what the real underlying cause was.

Allelujah nodded. What with all the decorations and a party, it seemed true, for whatever reason.

"Do you have a.... Valentine?" and from anyone else that might have been flirting. With Setsuna, it was a strange curiosity that manifested from time to time in him.

As he was far from experienced with romance, even flirting, Allelujah was oblivious from any other possible intent than it being a simple question. "A Valentine? No..I took Miss Sumeragi to the dance last year, she wanted to go but not alone."

"She seems better here," Setsuna noted, coming back to the bed and sliding on in a method he mastered that did not shake the bed should he rise before Allelujah in the mornings.

"She has been drinking a bit less than back home." Whether part of that was because she was physically not allowed to get drunk alone, or because she was out of the position of having people's lives relying on her predictions was up for grabs.

Which was good. A drunken strategy was not ideal. He looked down at Allelujah and on impulse began to stroke the other's hair again what with nothing else to occupy him. "Good," he muttered.

Just as impulse had Allelujah turn his head against the hand. It was rather soothing. He hummed quietly in agreement.

He kept up the motion for a time, and then given he had nothing better to do he shifted, starting to lay himself down.

As Setsuna started to lay down, Allelujah started to sit up, having made up his mind to start something for dinner-something small and quick to make was his thought. As he was not paying as much attention as he normally did, his mouth headed towards Setsuna's, lips parting to ask a question.

It's just one of those things you never expect to happen via such mundane motions, but this nonetheless happened. Their mouths met. It wasn't gentle and natural like in the movies, but that did not mean it was any less a kiss.

It certainly was unexpected, and unusual enough to wring a quiet gasp from Allelujah. He reflexively froze, neither pulling away or leaning closer.

Setsuna was much the same, every muscle in his body tight as he tried to think of what to do. Oddly enough 'pull away' wasn't the first thing to cross his mind, but he somehow arrived at it and sat back up a bit woodenly, looking down at Allelujah as if he'd been struck.

Only when Setsuna pulled away did Allelujah move again, and slowly finished sitting up. Not knowing what to say, he stared back at the other, uncertainty clear in his expression and posture.

A pink tongue flashed over those now deflowered lips, looking away and frowning. "That...."

Allelujah reached up and ran a hand through his hair as he attempted to sort through what he could say. Did he want to apologize for it? It was an accident, certainly, but...it hadn't felt bad or wrong. He decided on a quiet comment of "..Odd.."

Yes, that was one way of putting it, wasn't it? He nodded and shifted, curling up slightly to let the other have room to get up off the bed.

"Not bad, that is not what I meant," was the quick attempt to keep Setsuna from thinking he'd hated it, and didn't want to see the other ever again. For there was Allelujah, off balanced and floundering a bit.

Which, of course, was not how Setsuna had taken it. But the more he thought on the statement the more he could not say it was bad either. For months now he'd slept beside Allelujah, used the other as a source of comfort in his own strange way. So, on that note, the kiss had not been... unpleasant. Just strange. He shrugged.

Allelujah wasn't sure how to interpret the other's silence this time, and finally fell silent, watching him still with that uncertainty. He knew he enjoyed and appreciated Setsuna's presence, he'd slept better and was more relaxed around the other than he was with many. That didn't hide how awkward he felt just then.

"Um... I'll go make dinner," Setsuna finally rose and padded into the kitchen in a wooden, but slightly hurried pace, his mind reeling.

He sighed quietly, finding some sort of mental ground to brace himself on, and stood up as well, following after. "Setsuna..You're ill...I..I'll make it."

Well, that much was true. He wasn't feeling overly well, yet, but that didn't mean he was invalid either. "I am well enough to handle making a sandwich."

"You should be eating soup.."

Setsuna couldn't argue that either. He looked at Allelujah, then slowly nodded his acceptance and sat at the table.

Allelujah managed a quick, slight smile at Setsuna's acceptance, and got to work on a simple minestrone soup before putting a kettle on for tea.

Setsuna watched placidly, quiet as always, but the silence was a bit more strained than usual.

It had been a while since the silence between them had been this strained, years, if his memory served him right. But he wasn't sure how to return to the relaxed silence of before, or if that was possible. After a while, without turning to face Setsuna, he quietly offered an out, "You..do not have to stay here with me if you do not want to.."

"I'm not leaving," Setsuna said. Regardless of the tension, he couldn't leave the dampening effect Allelujah had on his dreams.

Allelujah couldn't help the relieved sigh. He nodded in acceptance. "I'm glad."

Setsuna went quiet again, waiting patiently for his tea and soup.

The tea was ready first, poured into a mug and set in front of Setsuna. Allelujah used the wait time for the soup to get out bowls and spoons for them. When the soup was ready, he dished up it up and put one bowl in front of Setsuna before sitting down with the other.

Slowly Setsuna ate, not for thinking the soup was bad or would be bad, but because of his stomach. No sense in upsetting it and loosing anything he managed to keep down, right?

Allelujah knew why the other ate slowly, and was glad to see it. He ate at about the same pace, though more because he was thinking, and Hallelujah was hardly helping.

Setsuna finished as he had started the meal - in silence. It seemed to smooth out as they ate, and he pushed his bowl aside when he was done.

Allelujah finished just after Setsuna, more relaxed than when he'd started cooking. Standing up, he took both of their dishes to the sink and washed them.

Leaving Allelujah to his task, he rose and went back to the room, settling on the bed, sitting rather than lying down, since Allelujah would need to get in on the side closest to the wall later.

When he was done, he head back to their room. Closing the door after him, he studied Setsuna briefly before walking over and taking his usual place with his back to the wall. He'd also learned the useful trick of moving on and off of the bed without causing it to move greatly, at least when he was awake.

Once the other was settled, Setsuna lay down as well and worked beneath the covers. He lay facing Allelujah, though he wasn't to sure what to say.

After what felt like hours, Allelujah hesitantly reached out to lightly touch Setsuna's check, uncertain of what to say either.

He'd normally shy from the touch, but this time he did not. His eyes lifted to the other's, quiet and, perhaps for the first time, looking as confused as he felt.

Allelujah kept the touch light before letting his hand fall back, not pushing, not even sure what he was asking. Or what he wanted. In short-he was just as confused as Setsuna was.

Setsuna hated being confused. Period. He didn't like the strangling feeling he got from it or the anxiety. He liked this straight forward. And if he could not have them that way, he made them that way. So.... he leaned in, pressing their mouths together - because maybe if he kissed the other again this would all make more sense and he could move on.

Being who he was, Allelujah was hardly one to deny Setsuna something the other obviously wanted. And, really, after the sheer shock of once again finding their mouths pressed together, it was rather pleasant. The confusion was still there, and the surprise and slight uncertainty of entering unknown territory. But he was not alone, was he? So he was able to relax into the kiss.

He let their mouths linger, not sure exactly what to do with their mouths together. But he finally pulled back a little, blinking at Allelujah.

Allelujah was just as unsure what to do. Not that he would ask anyone about it, but a growing part of him hoped to figure it out soon. He didn't move away when Setsuna pulled back a little, visible eye watching him closely. He wasn't aware of the faint blush that had appeared somewhere along the way.

"Well... good night," Setsuna murmured, and lay back on the pillow, closing his eyes.

"..Goodnight," Allelujah quietly replied before following the other's example.

allelujah, setsuna
