Summary: Luna's working in the hot springs when Alberich comes up from his daily sparring matches.

Alberich trudged along the path to the hot springs, needing the water's comfort today. He felt like he was battered and bruised after his sparring matches for the day, seeing a definite improvement in those he trained. Coming up to the building, he immediately headed towards the men's hot spring, casually picking up a towel on his way there.

Luna was just heading into the men's changing area to replenish the towels. She had no idea where Artemis was, so she was doing his portion of the job too. With a shake of her head, she put the towels away and then smoothed down her dress.

It wasn't that being seen by a woman was any problem for Alberich at this point, it's just that Luna wasn't familiar to him other than just seeing her working at the hot springs. He didn't particular want to get changed with her in there, so he leaned against the wall instead.

She turned, not surprised to see Alberich there. "Excuse me." the woman said with a polite smile, "I don't know where Artemis went."

"I can until you are finished wait." Alberich sighed, pushing some of his hair out of his face. Damn, he needed a hair cut too, and had no idea who could do it. "No hurry."

Luna nodded and continued putting the things away. "How where your matches today?"

"Tiring." Alberich admitted, sadly being able to sum them up in one word. He was sore and tired, and wanted to just soak it away. "Those I train, better getting."

"That is good. I wish my Princess was still here, I'd send her to train with you." Luna shook her head.

"She would likely me have hated." Alberich let out a sarcastic sort of half-chuckle, pushing off the wall for now. "Most of my students do."

"Probably yes, but she would have been better for it."

"As do all of my students in Valdemar." A pang of homesickness went through him, Alberich truly was starting to miss his 'new' home, as well as the usual pain of being separated from Kantor. He wondered how his Companion was taking the separation, hoping that the bond would still be there when he returned.

"I know how it is to miss your home."

"How knew you?" Alberich was surprised by Luna's choice of words, wondering just how she could know what he was thinking about.

"I've worn that look many times myself. I left my home to become an adviser for my Princess' mother."

"I can never back to my homeland go."

Luna gave a small nod. "I don't know if my world even exists anymore."

Alberich didn't bother elaborating on his feelings, heading further into the changing area. "I an exile am. It would me not surprise, that I a traitor considered."

Luna was nearly done putting the things away. She nodded as she listened to Alberich talk.

Alberich shrugged, "That the past is, and never changed can be."

"The past cannot be changed, only the future."

"Sometimes." Alberich was not going to deny that there were times some things could never be changed. The future was not necessarily in his hands, only the tools to change what he could, and when he could.

She turned and looked at Alberich.

"The future, sometimes out of our hands is."

"I understand that."

Alberich nodded, having a feeling several people on this island would agree with him.

"I've seen the effects of time travel."

Alberich shuddered at the thought of time travel, instinctively sensing something wrong with it, at least in his mind.

Luna put the last towel away. "That's why there is a Guardian of Time and Space."

"And why she a god's child is?" The thought was coming to him more naturally with the time he spent on the island, combined with his knowledge of other gods besides his own thanks to the rumors of the Shin'a'in nomads. "I would not a regular human with such responsibilities trust."

"None of the Guardians are regular humans..." Luna said, "But, I do understand what you're saying."

"It would things a bit explain..." Alberich mused as he moved to a relatively concealed area, more for Luna's sake than his own. "Still, I these bruises soak must. Then time for heavy thoughts."

"Take care of yourself. You know how to find me Alberich." She said before stepping out.

"I do." Alberich waited for her to leave the men's changing area before he got suitable for the hot springs, heading out to soak when he was done.
