RP Log - Merry Christmas!

Summary: The little family spends Christmas together.
Hotaru climbed out of bed. It was Christmas morning! She raced from her room down the hall to her parents' room and opened the door. "Mama! Papa!" she cried happily. "It's Christmas Day!"
Uranus groaned and poked her head out from under her pillow. "Firefly, honey... It's five in the morning."
Neptune also looked out at the little girl. "Please let us sleep a little longer."
Hotaru however ran over and climbed into bed with them. "It's Christmas," she said.
Uranus rolled and looked at Hotaru. "Thala... It's her first Christmas with us..."
Neptune nodded. "It is."
"Nothing some strong coffee won't cure."
Neptune nodded. "Okay, okay, Firefly. We'll get up."
Hotaru smiled brightly.
"Give us a minute before you go tearing out there to see what Santa brought you."
Hotaru nodded.
Uranus yawned and sat up. She ran a hand through her bed tousled hair.
Neptune took a little bit longer to sit up. She blinked sleepily and went to get her hair brush.
"I'm going to go put coffee on. Firefly, stay put."
Hotaru nodded, looking over as Neptune sat down on the bed again brushing her hair.
Uranus left the room to go put on a pot of coffee.
Neptune looked over at Hotaru. "You excited, honey?"
Hotaru nodded, smiling brightly.
"Alright... Send out the early morning demon." Uranus called teasingly.
Hotaru climbed out of the bed and ran into the living room bouncing happily. Neptune followed a little slower, pulling her bathrobe around her to help stay warm.
Uranus handed Neptune a cup of coffee. "Alright Firefly, attack what Santa left you."
Neptune took a sip of her coffee as Hotaru ran over to the Christmas tree and started opening her presents.
Uranus smiled and reached into her own robe pocket. She pulled out a long thin, velvet box and handed it to Neptune. She leaned over and kissed her. "Merry Christmas."
Neptune smiled. "Thank you, Aeola," she said as she opened the box.
Inside was a diamond and aquamarine tennis bracelet.
Neptune smiled brightly and leaned over and kissed Uranus. "I love it. Thank you."
"You're welcome." Uranus smiled and then sipped her coffee.
"Papa," Hotaru called, holding a stuffed animal from Neptune that she had just unwrapped. "There is a present for you."
Uranus walked over to Hotaru and knelt down. "There is?"
Hotaru nodded and carefully passed a medium sized package to her that had a tag that read "To Papa From Hotaru and Mama".
Uranus took the package. She glanced back at Neptune. "I told you I don't need anything."
Neptune smiled. "Just open it, Aeola."
She shook her head and sat down. She then opened the package.
Inside the package was box of balloons with a label in Neptune's handwriting that read "For water balloons."
Uranus chuckled.
Neptune chuckled. "We thought you might appreciate."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Uranus smiled and sipped her coffee. She watched Hotaru play with her toys.
Neptune walked over and sat down beside Uranus. She leaned against her, taking another sip of her coffee.
Hotaru looked up and smiled. "Thank you, Mama. Thank you, Papa."
"You're welcome Firefly."
Neptune smiled. "You're welcome, honey."
Uranus yawned and then took another sip of her coffee.
Neptune also took a sip of her coffee as Hotaru played with the toy.
"I like this..."
Neptune nodded. "I do too. It's nice spending time as a family."
"An odd family we are."
Neptune looked over at her and smiled. "Oh well. We are a cute little family."
"We are."
Hotaru looked up at them and smiled. "Mama, are going to play Christmas songs today?"
"Later, honey. It's still too early."
Uranus looked over at the clock. "It's almost six..."
Neptune nodded. "It's too early."
"Too early."
Hotaru nodded. "Okay."
She smiled and leaned against the couch, sipping her coffee.
Neptune leaned against Uranus again and took another sip of her coffee. Hotaru smiled brightly and scooted over to snuggle with them, bringing her new stuffed toy with her.
"Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas," Neptune whispered.
"Merry Christmas!" Hotaru cried happily.
Uranus shook her head, smiling.
Neptune yawned, setting her coffee down and snuggled against Uranus.
She wrapped an arm around Neptune, holding her close.
Neptune smiled and snuggled close to her.
"Mama," Hotaru said, tugging on Neptune's robe, suddenly remembering. "Did the candy get delivered?"
Neptune nodded. "It did, honey."
"What did you two trouble makers do?"
"Delivering the candy that Hotaru wanted to give to people for Christmas...she wanted to come, but it was late so I made her stay here."
Uranus nodded. "Okay."
Neptune snuggled against Uranus again.
She smiled, content to hold Neptune close and watch Hotaru play with her toys.
Neptune smiled. "Her first Christmas with us..."
"And certainly not her last."
Neptune nodded. "But her last one as a child."
"Yes..."
Hotaru scooted over into Uranus's lap and snuggled with her as well.
Uranus smiled and placed a hand on Hotaru's back.
Hotaru looked up at Uranus and smiled.
She smiled back.
"I love you, Papa," Hotaru said with a smile.
"I love you too."
"And I love Mama," the little girl said.
"I love you too, Firefly."
Uranus smiled.
"A cute little family," Neptune said yawning behind her hand.
"Rest Thala."
Neptune nodded. "Okay."
