Jeff sat next to Sam, as predictable as that was. The couple was just a little more detached from the rest of the group today than usual. They hadn't pulled their chairs away or anything, but they did opt for the ones that were the furthest away, in the back.

As they listened to Emma's announcement, Jeff turned and faced his boyfriend.

''So, are you still sure I should sing that? I like the song... but it seems... slightly risqué to me.'' Jeff answered, as he laughed.

Sam just nodded. ''Well, that's true. But if you present it correctly...''

So, without further ado, Jeff stepped up to the floor.

''So this is a song... or a mix of songs... Sam & I kinda wrote, it's... not your usual stuff, but I feel it expresses the happiness of living in the moment, without worrying about what might happen tomorrow. Obviously, this is stretched out to the extreme, almost in a depraved way... but it's fun, and I feel it expresses... the concerns of today's youth.''

Then, he started singing, with Sam providing back vocals when needed:

''There ain't no reason you and me should be alone tonight,
Give me everything tonight,
I've got a reason that you're who should take me home tonight,
Do it all again!
(Last friday night!)

I need someone who thinks it's right when it's all wrong tonight,
(Party rock is in the house tonight!)
Right on the limits where we know we both belong,
'Cause we might not get tomorrow,
Pictures of last week,
Ended up in school,
I'm screwed, oh well,
I wanna run right through to the edge with you,
Where we can both fall far in love.

There's a cute guy in my bed,
There's a pounding in my head,
Glitter's all over the room,
Lawn ornaments in the pool,
I smell like a minibar,
Something weird's up in the yard,
A doll's on the barbecue,
'This a icky or a bruise?

Don't care what they say or what games they play,
(I'm on the edge of glory)
Nothing is enough til I have your love,
I want you tonight,
(The edge, the edge, the edge)
I want you to stay,
(The edge, the edge, the edge)
I want you tonight,
(The edge, the edge, the edge)
Grab somebody sexy tell 'em:
Party rock is in the house tonight!
(Excuse me / But I might drink a little bit more than I should tonight)
Everybody just have a good time,
(And I might take you home with me if I could tonight)
And we gonna make you lose your mind!
(Baby I'm gonna make you feel so good tonight)
Everybody just have a good time tonight!
(We might not get tomorrow)
I want all of you tonight,
(Get up, get down, put your hands up to the side)
Give me everything tonight,
(Get up, get down, put your hands up to the side)
For all we know we might not get tomorrow
(Get up, get down, put your hands up to the side)

See I need in my life for me to stay,
No, no, no, no, no, I know you'll stay
No, no, no, no, no, don't go away!
My heartbeat running away,
(Heartbeat running way)
Beating like a drum and it's coming your way,
(Drum and it's coming your way)
Oh it be like, boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom
(Boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom)
Can't you hear that boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom
I'm on the edge of glory and I'm hanging on a moment of truth,
(Give me everything tonight)
Yeah we maxed our credit hard
(The edge of glory)
And got kicked out of the bar
(Hanging on a moment with you)
So we hit the boulevard
Last friday night
Party rock is in the house tonight!
(The edge, the edge, the edge)
Everybody just have a good time!
(The edge, the edge, the edge)
Ohh you got my heartbeat falling away
(The edge, the edge, the edge)
Beating like a drum and it's coming your way

There ain't no reason you and me should be alone tonight,
Give me everything tonight,
I've got a reason that you're who should take me home tonight
Do it all again!''

Having finished his song, Jeff nervously awaited his peers' reactions.

Lauren, who was sitting in the front row, perked up when Jeff mentioned he and Sam 'kinda' wrote a mix of songs together. She smirked at Sam and shook her head. When Jeff started, she moved easily to the beat and was thinking how good the medley was. She saw that Ms. Pillsbury was shifting uncomfortably in her chair when Lauren realized how inappropriate, or risque the song probably sounded to her. 'I'm screwed', 'cute boy in my bed', 'sexy'. Lauren just laughed to herself and wondered if the redhead was going to have a stroke.

About halfway through the song,Lauren started glaring at Sam because she thought the song was really good, and she sung 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". It didn't seem fair.

When Jeff finished, Lauren clapped, "Good job," she said sincerely then added, "You and Sam have some awesome songwriting skills."

Mercedes smirked slightly when Jeff mentioned that he and Sam wrote the mix of songs, and just leaned back against her chair. The combination of songs happened to be very good, and clapped when he was finished. She rather liked both of the songs that had been used in the mashup, and she thought that Jeff did quite well with both of the songs. Especially with him never actually having heard the original.

She flashed a smile at Jeff when he settled into a nearby chair.
