I don't remember where I left off, so I'll just make stuff
up.
I taught Dad about torrent downloads and demonstrated the
G2P Google hack.
Sunday, Dad and I moved
the old (spare) oven out of the kitchen and gave it to one of his colleagues
who, apparently, has been doing without an oven since last Thanksgiving, when
hers broke immediately before she was to cook for a party of 17. She managed
to pull it off anyway, using crockpots and her toaster (one of the guests
fried up the turkey for her). We removed her old, broken oven and set about
installing the "new" one for her. This involved lifting the old one out,
removing its hardwiring, cutting out a portion of the countertop, and rewiring
the "new" oven such that we removed the three-prong cord and wired it directly
to the house. Works good. We were rewarded with iced tea.
I also
learned that my parents have been in the process of eliminating high-fructose
corn syrup from their home completely. Kudos.
I also learned that it
is, in fact, a law in the state of Florida that you must move over a lane when
an emergeny vehicle is on the side of the road. If you can't move over, you
should significantly slow your speed. How 'bout that.
