An Educational Weekend

It was quite the educational weekend.

One of the first things I picked up was during the conversation I had with my
parents as soon as I walked in the door about the final drama with Cypress
Pointe. It's an expensive lesson in "No documentation, no representation,"
much as I thought. It comes down to my word against theirs, and since they
have "files" indicating that there were things removed and cleaned and I have
no "proof", I'm pretty much SOL. Basically. I just hope that the people that
were signing the lease when I was in the office have better luck than I did
there. Or that someone sensible talks them out of living there. Or some
fanatic convinces them to firebomb the property and get the hell out before
the authorities arrive.

Something a little lighter were some tips and tricks on how to properly
barbecue chicken.

Or how to play FreeCol, an open-source Java turn-based strategy game
similar to the Civilization franchise. So far, it's been really
addictive. I guess that's the effect of its novelty. Once the new-ness wears
off, I'm sure I'll uninstall it.

Oh, gotta go.
