catching up

I got moved and settled. Well, I'm still settling, but it's getting less crazy around here.

I'm at the point now that I need to buy more things in order to unpack the rest of my stuff. Doesn't make a lot of sense does it? For the most part it just means I have way more books than shelves.

My friend said (while he was helping me move) that he preferred helping his dumb friends move because they have fewer books. And that was only about half my books. The other half was still in storage. ;)

So yeah, I could use another bookcase or two. Maybe three.

It's coming together though. :)

I think I've won the battle against the spiders for now, too. Yay!

I'll be happy when I have all my little projects done. Some more than others, like the venting for the microwave/stove and painting the exterior of the house. Still nothing too bad. Could definitely be worse. :)

Oh yeah! I all-but-finished that big project I've been working on at the day job for the last year and a half. There are 4 very small things left to do, but they are out of my hands. If the customers don't reply by Aug 15, I get the pleasure of breaking them and then the project will be completely done! This is the biggest/longest project I've ever taken on and it's SO good to be done with. Unfortunately, now I'm not motivated to start on anything else. :P I'll be better in a few days. Maybe it's time for another week off. :)

Lemieux is coming off his medication!! I'm so excited! I'm more excited that he seems to like the new house so much. I think there are so many birds, squirrels, dogs, cats, and bugs (and let's not forget every room has at least one window in which to sun himself) that he's far too entertained to be territorial. He'll "chase" a squirrel from one end of the house to the other as it runs along the fence outside. It's so cute! He seems much happier now and that makes me happy. :) Marleau is enjoying himself too. I think they really like being able to sit in open (screened) windows again. Oh! And the screen door. I think we equally love that. :)
