I would quite dearly like some sleep please. For the first time in ages last night I actually had good quality sleep, just not enough of it. Blah.
Last week was good, even if for some reason my anxiety was sky high. The previous Saturday we went to the Guineas at Newmarket, and I called the winner, which is always a pleasant surprise when I actually know what I'm talking about with horse racing. Coroebus, called it a month ago. Was great to be back at the races, and was a lovely day out. Also got to catch up lots with some friends we hadn't seen for a while, so it was really good.
Sunday we headed down to the wilds of Surrey to see the stud where our stallion, Roseman, is. Lovely place, so much space for the horses, and Roseman was in fine form, mugging for Polos.
We went to see Tool on Wednesday, and they were epic. Seriously fantastic gig. We were in hospitality, which is definitely the way to do a gig! Food and drinks included, fantastic view of the stage, and they finished on Invincible, which is just the best track. G thoroughly enjoyed himself, couldn't believe he was in the same room as Maynard. Hotel near the venue was ok, but was pumping air freshner through all the rooms, so poor G's allergies were terrible all night. At least we had Thursday off too to recover.
Then Friday and Saturday nights were spent watching the F1 and the horse racing (shock winner of the Kentucky Derby, whoo!), and on Sunday evening I went out for sushi with friends H and B, and we saw Bianca Del Rio perform in Cambridge. My face hurt from laughing by the time we were done.
This week G's been in the Netherlands with work, but he's home tonight, thankfully. I am totally co-dependent, so I've basically just eaten a shit tonne of junk food and done a lot of cleaning while he's been away. Neither the cats nor I enjoy when he's away. Chi has been particularly grumpy.
Speaking of the cats, it's Shaman's 15th birthday today. He is starting to show his age a bit, old man, he's lost some muscle mass, and he's (believe it or not) even clumsier than he is usually, but he's still happy and fine in himself. Happy birthday, my handsome little man. I'll sneak him some forbidden treats before G gets home.
