Noisy brain

I wrote this last week and didn't post it, whoops.

My brain is being loud and anxious for no real reason and I haaaaaate it.

Work is in that horrible 'EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE WRAPPED UP BEFORE FRIDAY, ARGHHHHH' phase, where stuff gets dumped on the admins because people haven't actually pulled their fingers out earlier. It's infuriating.

And I ( Read more... )

Yeah, you're not the only one in work while your mind is already on holiday.... or indeed anxious.

I've not had my booster yet but I do have my flu shot today, just in time for Christmas.

When's you last day? Or are you sufficiently important that you're always on call?

Last day is Friday, though we usually only do a couple hours before being told to log off. Then the office is shut until the new year - and I go straight into a three day training course, yay. Not on call, and no one should be working between Christmas and New Year, so thankfully I'll get a break. How about you?

Are you able to book your booster online?

Ooofff! Are you at least doing the whole week from home? I finish on Wednesday, which leaves me a couple of days get into the spirit of things.

I honestly haven't been that bothered about the booster. At least 3 people in work have had in in the last couple of weeks and I know of several more outside of work. They've all been the same; flu-like at worst. I'll probably try and get it done after Christmas but mostly for the sakes of others. I'm not afraid of catching it.

Oh yeah, office is shut again, per government guidelines. Most people have taken the week off, so it'll be quiet. I'll watch a lot of Walking Dead and potter round updating Sharepoint sites. G's company is open til Friday as well, so it's not a big deal - just glad we're not open between Christmas and New Year like at my old company!

I've got a couple of colleagues with long covid, they've had real complications with it. And for me, it's not so much about me catching it, as the risk of me passing it on to others. G has a weakened immune system, if I gave it to him I would never forgive myself.

I suppose that's the issue. Most of the people I'd worry about giving it to have already had it. So for me it feels much less urgent. Certainly not like it was last year.

I still have to be onsite. I was hoping for a quiet week but I've had a number of tedious jobs dropped on me last minuet and I am totally failing to do them.
