Younger Daughter just gave me a "Guess How Much I Love You"-esque 'card' she made in school. It says "I love you to the core of the sun and back!" I am tickled to the core of my astronomy-loving heart.:-)

After a largely unproductive day, I had the pleasure (NOT!) of yelling at the neighbors' yard guy for using his leafblower to remove my topsoil. In other news, I had a pleasant Mother's Day, complete with breakfast in bed served by my kids. (Buttered toast, water [my usual beverage], and vitamins, accompanied by the potted plant my elder bought for me at her school's garden sale.) This morning, as we were driving on the parkway to drop K off for a birthday party, M began composing her first musical/light opera. It's really amazing the way she can take her life and turn it into a song, complete with a (simple) melody, meter, and rhyme. Then K knocked my socks off by joining in, in spontaneous harmony.
