I intend to buy a fried chicken breast at the grocers' today to tempt Ikon. The ones available at our local store are so huge, I always think of them as chocobo breasts. That image should amuse our girl and maybe trick her into eating more than her usual less than half a piece.
Last night, Ikon read the short essay "On the Necessity of the Journal" to MC. When she had finished, he looked at her and said, "That is really fine work." He then went on to critique her writing, expressing special pleasure with the opening and ending sections. She was thrilled by his reaction since he is a fine critic with excellent taste in literature and rarely has any comment to make on anything she shows him - which, honestly, is not very much. It takes only a small ember of genuine appreciation to warm her entire edifice for quite a long time.
She managed to write five pages of "The Dynast" yesterday and hopes to have the chapter finished shortly.
