OOC ANNOUNCEMENTS
→ Our giant glitch poll results are kind of in! Judging by just the initial polling, Happily Ever After will happen in November and the Invasion will happen in December. With September and October’s results being relatively even splits.
Later this month we’ll put up another poll and discussion post so we can sort things out a little more solidly and make sure to take everyone’s schedules into account, so if you have something big coming up or want to make sure you’re able to participate, please let us know there so we can work it out for you!
→ Extras are evolving! This is a long-term change to the city itself that will hopefully allow characters to do and explore more than they’ve been able to in the past. For this month, feel free to have your characters notice that the Extras are a little less repetitive and empty than usual.
→ Along with Extras, the hatches are getting yummier! Considering the amount of time devoted to the project, the aliens have come up with a way to make the hatches give out much better food than they were before. Enjoy the tasty!
→ In light of the recent ddos attacks against Livejournal that have made commenting, posting, and most other things pretty near impossible, the activity check for July is going to be extra lenient! We’re giving allowances for the situation, including if it continues further into this month, so please don’t worry and just let us know if you’re having more trouble accessing the site.
Please, if you know someone in Taxon that still cannot access LJ and won't see this post, let them know and let us know so we can make allowances where necessary. We don't want anyone to be stuck trying to make AC when they can't because of the site having downtime.

WEATHER/ATMOSPHERE
The aliens have once more grown a bit bored with snagging weather from one location. The trouble is no one has determined which will be the new one yet, so the month of August will have a sort of weather roulette. Every few days the climate will change...and so will the seasons, so your characters may want to keep both their flip-flops and parkas handy.
WEATHER SCHEDULE:
1-3 = winter
4-5 = spring
6-8 = fall
9-12 = summer - HEAT WAVE
13-14 = spring
15-16 = winter
17-19 = fall - WINDY
20-20 = summer
21-22 = winter - SNOW STORM
23-24 = summer
25-27 = spring - TORRENTIAL RAIN
28-31 = fall
We’ll have a top comment in which folks can present ideas for the next climate location as we head into the (northern hemisphere) fall and then winter months.
FREEBIES
Characters aren’t the only things getting paired up this month! For August, the hatches and stores in the city will be giving away things that come in pairs, sets of two, or meant for two people. Pants, socks, salt and pepper shakers, shoes, bicycles built for two, loveseats, anything associated with pairs will not cost a single credit.
JOINED AT THE HIP: PART DEUX
Throughout the entire month of August, characters will be finding themselves ‘attached,’ whether they want to be or not.
While this is a re-do of a previous glitch, there are some definite changes in how it will work:
• Instead of electric shocks when paired characters move out of range from one another, they’ll be attached with a fine link chain between their bracelets. The chain, similar to flimsy necklace chains in appearance, is made of the same indestructible material as the bracelets themselves and will be 3 to 5 feet long.
• You can begin threading out characters being chained whenever you’re ready throughout the month. Characters will find themselves chained in one of two ways:
→ they’ll wake up together regardless of where each of them fell asleep the night before
→ the chain will materialize instantly when the two characters are close to one another
Being chained will last a minimum of 12 hours, but you are free to keep them stuck as long as you like. When the glitch ends, the chain will disappear.
• There can be multiple pairings! We’ll be doing randomized pairs for those who would like unexpected CR, but feel free to pair your characters up as much or as little as you like. To volunteer your character(s) for a randomized pair, please comment on this post. We're giving you some extra time to sign up, and we’ll put a list of all the pairs up in the next few days.

Even so, same meme is same as before, so don't forget to fill it out and comment around with other players to get your monthly plot on!
