Certainly didn't sound like it from that resigned sigh that had accompanied the statement. No other options in hand meant going out of house, and not doing things on your own meant that you had to trust someone else to do them right. And that... That have the tendency to end badly.

So, this in mind, she stares at the screen for a second, considering him. He wouldn't have chimed in if he wasn't at least a little tech-savvy. So she'll throw a bone or two. "Military ops device. It regulates body chemistry. Mine, specifically."

Was that an offer? Yes, I think it was however subtle it might have been. Of course, it wasn't like he was just going to come right out and offer self-less help to someone. But, of course, if they asked, who was he to decline?
Not to mention he would mind working on something that might actually keep him busy for more than a minute or two at a time.

"I'm gonna go with the first one. You know what? Here." The screen jumped a little as she switched hands and reached behind her back. Carefully, the hand returned with the small, silver device in the palm. "Regulates body heat, heartbeat, chemistry, all that fun stuff. Worked all fine and dandy before," she explained, albeit a little more hesitantly. "But like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if this place decided to screw me over some more."
