She intends to mean 'waking up different,' but it applies on many different levels. Plenty more than she realizes at the moment, but that's a problem for later.

There was just unmitigated joy in that exclamation. For it to be him "too", it had to be her to begin with, and that meant she'd also been...not fixed. People don't get fixed. Healed.
"Me too," he replied with a nod. "Just today. When did it happen to you?"

She tucks a stray hair (all brushed, looking very put together) behind her ear, awkward but unimpeded.
"Things from before are still vague, but I've managed. I suppose you don't have that problem, do you? Since you recognized me?"

"That is a switch," he mused. "But yes, we're friends. I've known you as long as I've been here."

On some level, she's entirely sure she doesn't want to know. She's actually avoided asking something like this before, but not wanting to know something never stopped River from finding it out before. This little bit of unease and the prickle at the back of her neck sure as seven hells won't stop her now.

"It's been weird, but I think an alien abduction requires a certain level of oddness."

"Oddness is definitely justified," Glitch remarked and scratched his head. "Well, if you need a more formal introduction: I'm called Glitch, and usually I've only got half a brain. It's...a long story which is sort of irrelevant at the moment."

There's a genuine smile, that gladness, and then half a brain hits and she stops. Her face falls. Something clicks.
"How did we know each other before? When you had half a brain, as opposed to now?"
