[ There are some good things about the tablets only broadcasting in voice. Such as the fact that nobody can see that Buffy is currently sitting on the roof, wearing a bikini and sunbathing - look, you have to make the best of a bad situation, okay. ]Hi Taxon. My name is Buffy Summers. Some of you might remember me from such adventures as trying to ( Read more... )

Okay, not the most ever eloquent, but I was improvising.

Uh huh.

Guess it'll be like old times, then. Except with more bathrooms. And maybe more men.

And fewer epic battles for hairdryers in the morning, I hope. [ her tone is dryly amused here. ]

I just figured with all this space, the least I can do is let people stay over for a while. Plus: castle. Strong and impenetrable by definition. Well, mostly impenetrable. There was one time with a zombie army, but Willow fixed it.

[ First her home is very much gone and now the sky appears to be falling. Any other time Gwen would have sought out a place of her own; she was used to living modestly anyhow. Right now she really doesn't know who to turn to. ]

You're very kind for opening your home. I may need a room for the duration of this...'storm'.

Oh, it's nothing really. You'd be more than welcome. [ And, because it's always tricky with the voice setting, she asks to be sure: ] We haven't met, have we?

Yes, right, I'm sorry. I do not believe we have. My name is Guinevere.

Tell me, is your castle far from the city's center?

Well it's good to meet you, Guinevere. And no, the castle isn't far. It's in Shelley, sort of South-East - maybe a fifteen minute tram ride? You really can't miss it, it's all big and... castle-y.

[ trying to keep the laughter at buffy's refusal to swear out of her voice: ]

Is the room I stayed in still available?

[ buffy appreciates that, max. ]

Yeah, of course. It's like your honorary room now, Max. It even has a little plaque.

...I might be kidding about the plaque.

Damn. I've always wanted my own plaque.

There could be a plaque - it just might come disguised as a paper sign. I'm kind of avoiding the hatches for anything other than the strictly necessary.

Not that ice cream isn't great, but I've arranged for some addition provisions for the people who are and will be staying in the castle. I... hope that's okay?

That's more than okay, thank you Piper. People will probably need the major food groups. Ones that don't involve cookie dough.

Although cookie dough is really a unique food group all on its own.

I agree, but some people have this whole weird thing for vitamins. [ and now, in a less frivolous tone. ]

I really hope we'll be ready for whatever's coming.

You can say bitch, you know. We're kind of lacking little kids, so there aren't any children to think of.

I'm supposed to be setting an example, here. Examples don't say bitch. They wear ties and polish things. ...or so I've read.
