The Doctor has been having a very bad week. And now, Helen's gone. In a way, that's more heartsbreaking than losing Astrid and Jack. Astrid and Jack have been gone from the Doctor's life for so long that briefly seeing them again and then losing them was almost expected. With Helen, she was the first friend he'd made in Taxon, and the only one he'd let into his plans about the bombs. Now it's just him.
He flips on the tablet and takes a breath. He's still looking ill, but he's doing a fairly good job of pretending he feels fine.
He sniffs. "Well, since the best hope I had for a solicitor's gone missing, I suppose I'd better start sorting out things on my own. I was told that I'd be kept abreast of the plans for my not-trial and sentencing. Any news you lot out there would like to share?" A pause. "And what happened to my Warden, Petrana."
