003. [ location: around taxon ]

Helen started the day like she did any other day, Taxon or no Taxon. Checking the security footage of the few hours she did sleep and making sure that everything was in order. Oddly there was a sort of chaos that had filled the Sanctuary For All the night before with a few of it's residence. Helen had been less than pleased at James's "mature" ( Read more... )

Bruce had been wandering around the city for a few days, and had discovered the trolleys are really nice to grab a seat in a back corner and just sleep. He hadn't discovered the hatches, so he was still just wearing his stretched out pants and nothing else.

None of the Extras had gone to poke at him, and none of the actual residents had come onto this particular car, so the guy was just snoozing.

Helen stepped aboard the trolley and noticed the man sleeping in the back. Her head quirked slightly to the side as she made her way back. Hopefully he hadn't missed his stop while he was sleeping about. She sat down in the seats in front of him, turning to look over at him with a smile.

She reached out and put her hand on his arm to give him a shake.

He jumped at the contact, eyes wide as he looked around. When he saw Dr. Magnus, he ran one hand through his hair, the other going to make sure his pants stayed up.

"Uh," he replied intelligently, "sorry." He wasn't sure what the woman had wanted, but spontaneous apologizing had always been a bad habit of his. "...Did, did you want this seat, ma'am?"

She laughed slightly. "I'm fine here. I hope you haven't missed your stop by sleeping about." She gestured out the window to section of the city the trolley was now in.

River has explored most of the city by foot already. She hasn't, though, been in Wilde more than once, and she's not sure she wants to go there on foot yet with nothing between her and capture but footfalls.

So, she's taking it in small doses, building up an immunity to it and the spider venom it holds in the back of her mind, by riding the Orbit trolley all the way around the city. This is her second trip, staring out the window toward the buildings the entire time as she sits primly in her seat and pointedly ignores the Extras moving on and off.

Once someone with actual thoughts comes on, however, she'll find the sudden change of mental scenery hard to ignore.

Helen had switched trolleys sometime earlier and gotten off to explore the area again. She had heard of a few people inhabiting Wilde, but wasn't sure exactly who it was that was inhabiting. She stepped aboard the trolley with a bit of a sigh, moving to sit towards the back.

Quickly, without much time for a second thought, River's legs are up and blocking the aisle, her toes resting on the seat across from her. She doesn't even look up at first, though she scoots over to the side a bit.

Come, sit with her. She's intrigued, though she still looks very distracted by the world outside the window.

Noticing the shift in position, Helen sits next to her. At first she doesn't say anything, looking to the window then at her.

Gabriel had been spending most of his time in his shop lately, working on fix up the clocks and making sure that they were in proper working order. He hadn't gotten much more than a nap and whatever he could cook in his microwave as far as sleep and food went since then, and it wasn't until he'd started to feel rather cramped from curling up on the cot that he'd finally figured that it was time to call it quits and head on back.

Pushing his glasses back up his nose, blinking against the sleep that was trying to grasp him, as he climbed aboard the trolley and flopped down in one of the seats, leaning his head back against it as he closed his eyes. If his luck held out, he'd end up falling asleep and miss his stop. Then again, maybe that wouldn't be so bad. At least he'd sleep.

Meeting fresh new faces always made the day a bit brighter, Helen thought. Certainly after meeting Mr. Harrison (though she suspected that wasn't his proper name), she had began to wonder how many people in the city weren't the "Extras." Apparently quite a few had made their home here in Taxon. Which also made her wonder how many Abnormals were here.

Stepping onto the Osten/Shelley line, she looked up from the book she had just picked up. Nothing too serious. Merely light reading on another theory of genetic evolutions. Though as the trolley started again she stood next to the seat that Gabriel had claimed. And that quirky smile made it's way on her face.

"Mind if I join you?"

Blinking his sleepy heavy eyes open, Gabriel smiled up at Helen. He was hardly in the best shape right now much less the best company, but he wasn't about to say no. Motion to the seat next to him, he nodded, "Feel free," He said, able to smother a yawn that tried to escape his mouth at the words. "Sorry if I'm not too talkative right now. It's been a really long day and night," He said, grinning in apology.

She sat down beside him with a smile and raised eyebrows. "Come now, Gabriel. You're always pleasant company. Sleepy or not. Besides, should you fall asleep mid conversation, I have a reading companion with me." She lifted the book and moved it side to side before resting it in her lap.

Her eyes went forward before back at him. Peter had returned to the Sanctuary in somewhat of a worry. Acting different, loss of abilities and memories. Clearly the man had no idea how to handle the situation besides give his friend the same he needed. Helen on the other hand saw very little chance. Certainly a change of dress, added the glasses. But his mannerisms and speech were the way that Gabriel always spoke around her. Unless he was attempting to keep up appearances of his other persona.

"You seem a little different." She smiled. "Feeling better?"
