Since my return from Japan last April I've been trying to find excuses to go back to this country as soon as possible. Also since TCTC's gig in the UK I've been craving for more live gigs by this band. What's better than combining your favourite country with your current favourite rockband? :-)
I'm going to see The Cooper Temple Clause at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan!
5 Days ago I'd discovered that TCTC are playing at this Fuji Rock Festival on the 28th July and thought this was the best excuse I can think of to visit this cool country again. I'll be in Hong Kong anyway from the 17th July to 16 August which mean there's only a 3 hours flying distance between me and this festival. The festival's official site said all tickets for overseas users have been sold out but I searched and found someone with a spare day ticket. Contacting this Japanese girl resulted in an offer for a free accomodation at her appartment in Tokyo as she wanted someone else to go with her to this festival as none of her friends shared the same music taste with her. Japanese hospitality: she also offered to buy me the Shinkansen ticket to the festival and to pick me up at the Narita airport.
Good, then there's not much chance I will get lost again in Tokyo. :P (I've missed the Akihabara, THE electronics district the last time! ;__; )
So I have a festival ticket, free accomodation and a pretty good English speaking compagnon, next things left to tackle down are:
- Money, although I have enough to cover the HK-Tokyo return I still have to pay the stay at a hotel in Naeba (festival area) as there are no trains to Tokyo after 11pm.
(I'm not sleeping in a tent!)
- Family...I know they have plans to visit Macau and either Thailand, South Korea or Shanghai and I don't mind to visit these places except for the latter one -I've already spoken my veto out about Shanghai- but I have to make sure they won't plan things that will clash with my Japan trip.
-How to tell my best friend Louise this, who also desperately wants to go back to the land of the rising sun? Feels a bit like treason if I go without her. :/
