At my appointment today the doctor went ahead and scheduled a date to induce my labor - Sunday, January 22. Before some of you ask, no there isn't anything wrong. My doctor told me from the very beginning that he would induce if the baby didn't come by the 39th week (unless I told him I didn't want him to...he's cool like that). He feels very ( Read more... )

Oh come ON!!! You couldn't hold out until the 24th? Or at least LATE on the 23rd, so it might carry over to the 24th? I mean, really, Tavi, have some consideration for OTHER PEOPLE here!!!

I know! But Tavi's trying to "plan" everything, and now I'm going to have to pray she's in labor for 48 hours so that they can share the same birthday...

Actually, it goes really, really fast when you're in labor. I didn't even realize it had been 27 hours for me until Rob told me it was Monday, not Sunday anymore.

Sorry but it has to be on the 22nd cause that's when the doctor is on call and I really want my doctor to deliver the boy. My doctor pretty much guaranteed me that I would have a child by 5 or 6 in the evening. They will be giving me the pill that induces labor at 3 AM and he'll rupture my membranes a 8 AM, if they haven't already. (BTW, my doc doesn't use pitocin since it only causes contractions and doesn't cause any change to your cervix. The pill he uses...can't remember name...causes changes to your cervix and contractions.)

But you can keep holding onto your hope that my child will be stubborn and not come until the 24th, I won't hold it against you. Jearden is working against you though since he's hoping for the 23rd, his birthday.

We've had names picked out since before I got pregnant. As it's a boy, his name will be Elijah Lee. If we get a big surprise like you did, her name will be Sarah Elizabeth.

I just don't think it would be a good idea since Evan had a relapse of the plague and gave it back to me twice as strong as before. This SUCKS! I missed my nephews birth cause Evan gave me a bug. Argh!

Congratulations Tavi, I'm sure I'll talk to you before then (with a considerable amount of space in between us) but I hope everything runs smoothly, and Eli isn't half as stubborn as Notalk's hoping for.
