Induction Date Set
At my appointment today the doctor went ahead and scheduled a date to induce my labor - Sunday, January 22. Before some of you ask, no there isn't anything wrong. My doctor told me from the very beginning that he would induce if the baby didn't come by the 39th week (unless I told him I didn't want him to...he's cool like that). He feels very strongly that there is no benefit to either the mother or the baby to wait any longer (and many times it actually raises the chances of complications). And being someone who really likes to plan things, it really doesn't bother me to have a scheduled induction. We are having to go to the Methodist Hospital instead of St. Luke's but again, no big deal. They are only two blocks away from each other, offer comparable services, and my doctor is on call there that day anyway.
