1. We get straight into the backlash over Tom Ridge's comments yesterday.

ETA: Heh - Frances poses "Why didn't he voice his concerns then?" and Paul Begala replies with "Maybe he's doing it now because those people are gone now?"
Frances amuses me solely because she keeps repeating "This meeting - which I chaired." It just...yes, we get it, Ms. Townsend, you chaired the meeting, you don't have to keep telling us.
ETA2: Oh. SNAP. Frances says that she feels that Tom Ridge is exploiting the proximity to 9/11. And Paul Begala does not appreciate this. And calls Bush out on the way he exploited it. He gets v. upset really. She says that doesn't make what Tom Ridge is doing right. He retorts with (paraphrased) "Okay, lets look at it like this: this is a man that George W Bush asked us to trust with our lives." He's essentially calling them out on they way they're talking about this man, all things considered.
2. Breaking News: White House official leaked that the budget debt is going to be another 2 trillion on top of everything.
