hathy_col, you are a star. (Also, hope you're having a good housewarming. Hope it's not literal, and am still sad I can't be there.)
Anyway. To explain the above: a month or two ago, when I travelled to the wilds of Merseyside for pizza, TV and awsomeness, Colleen introduced Iona and me to Heroes. Due to complete forgetfulness, I've missed several episodes, and consequently kind of have no idea what's going on most of the time, but still: Heroes is love, Hiro is love, Oh, the love.
But the secondary love is this: my Dad came in while I was watching it one night. (I had, after all, pinched his TV to watch it on.) And I explained what it was, probably with effusive amounts of love and squee, and being SciFi fan himself, he rather likes it. So much so, in fact, that while I was in Spain, he recorded the whole catch-up weekend thing they did. *g*
We're going to sit down (well, one of us will be lying down) and watch the latest episode in just under an hour, and, well, yay. Yay indeed.
