I went to Russian embassy today, to apply for visa for my husband..
While waiting I had a nice opportunity to watch how people are prepared and how they do "their duties":)
Situation #1:
A young man comes to notary services window. He explained that he has done online appointment, however there is no time and no name. When the manager asks can you show the invitation, he has to take his laptop, because he hasn't printed out. Apparently, his online-appointment hasn't gone through and he is not in the system. Sometimes it happens, the manager advises that in such cases it's better to give a call and confirm.
Normally notary services are done ONLY prior appointment. The manager agrees with a man that if the person with appointment is late and if she has a time, she'll do his request.
Luckily for the young man, she has time and they start discussing what this man needs from the consulate.
Well, the man needs a paper which will enable him to represent some other person at a trial. But it is very important to know what format of such a paper is required. Especially because it's a trial.
The man doesn't have an example, he doesn't know exactly what is required. He doesn't have any papers that are required for his request, including passport copies of the other person. No printouts. Basically, nothing.
When the manager explains the requirements and advises (e.g. go to the web-site, check what is required at trial, prepare the papers), the man is somewhat showing his temper "I'm not stupid, I have an education.."
Finally he has to go away and to make his "homework" - to prepare all the papers required..
Situation #2:
Some lady, apparently a representative some tour-agency, brings 22 passports with applications for visa.
A manager is checking the applications:
- I think, 1/3 of applications didn't have signatures
- Several applications were not filled properly (some information was missing).
It seems, that the "tour-agency" lady had some "blank" applications with signatures and all the information required, however, she had to correct the applications.
WHY couldn't she check all these 22 applications in advance???
PS: In my case I had even more papers than required:) I hope only that the Indian marriage certificate will be fine, though I have no other one:)
