Highlights from SF so far:
- X-Files movie premiere at midnight with the only person I can think of who appreciates it as much as I do. Movie is strictly for fans, and we both nerded it up quite a bit.
- Talking to a bluesman playing guitar at 5 AM on the subway stairways who suggests we get together and he teach me some things.
- Batman on IMAX in four hours.
- Buying a gigantic rape jacket from a used store, after seeing an entire set of Encyclopedia Britannica (15th ed - 1990) for $100 from a going-out-of-business book store.
- Sharing a milk-shake atMel's Drive-In.
- Being really silly with Cristina on the streets at 3 AM.
- Buying too many records before and at Amoeba.
- Eating an Indian pizza with curry and tandoori chicken on naan pizza in the hotel room while laughing at porn titles with Cristina.
- Talking to my dad about spiritual books and concepts.
- Playing back-and-forth word games with Cristina while coming back from Orphan Andy's at 2 AM after watching Eyes Wide Shut at the Castro. Titles and bands "...in my pants" (The Clash in my pants) and last name first name celebrities (Fidel Castro... Casey Casem... Carrie Fischer... Frank Oz...).
- Playing chess in cafes on Haight and watching Cristina smile as she calls me a fucker for taking her pieces.
- Having a cigarette and a romantic kiss while standing over Yerba Buena park at night, talking about loft apartments with built-in shelves.
