Jacob and Esau

Genesis 27

We all know this story. Rebecca convinces Jacob to get a blessing by deceiving Isaac into thinking he was Esau.

The thing that strikes me the most here, always has, is that Jacob is still blessed. He's sneaky and deceitful yet God doesn't seem to penalize him for that, at least not right away. The Jewish Study Bible suggests there are consequences down the road, but he's still blessed. Is this an example of God being faithful to Isaac? Why doesn't he take Isaac's intent, instead of his literal word, and bless Esau?

How is Isaac so stupid, if this story has been accurately preserved? You'd think he'd know the difference between wild game and goat. And his son's voices, for that matter.
