Am I jaded?
I'm sitting here reading about the failure of the House to pass the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. A bill that will allow the Government to spend up to $700 BILLION dollars on bailing out financial institutions. I remember another President Bush bailing out the Savings and Loan industry. Now Dubbya wants to save the Banks .... And congress is saying that the White House wants too much too fast. Am I just too politically jaded by thinking that Congress is just holding back until the lobbists tell them how much they will get in kick-backs or "special" loans? Or are our Congressmen/women really trying to protect the AMerican Tax-payer by not passing the legislation? Me thinks its just another cycle of greed.
